Adam Henson, 54, has spoken out on “vicious” remarks he has received from some viewers, over controversial Countryfile segments. The Cotswold’s Farm Park owner has shared that people have on occasion “lashed out” at him on social media, particularly vegans who have criticised him talking about meat production.

I’m really open to advice, as long as it’s constructive

Opening up on backlash to certain topics discussed on the programme, Adam said: “I’m really open to advice, as long as it’s constructive.

“We don’t always get it right on the programme, there could be other elements we could be showing or talking about.

“Or a different way of explaining things, or slightly different techniques. So that’s all fine by me. When I do sometimes get vicious feedback, people being rude and mean, and nasty about me or the way we farm.”

He shared that things had become “quite nasty” on social media after he had discussed animal slaughter, which prompted vegans to protest.

Adam continued: “Particularly recently, some quite nasty social media lashing out from vegans, talking about meat productions.

“They are hiding behind their screens, being really quite vicious towards me. Making all sorts of assumptions and using language that is totally inappropriate.”

Adam has 60,000 followers on Twitter and 32,000 fans on Instagram.

He largely receives positive feedback from avid fans of the farming show, but on occasion there have been rude comments, which Adam found “frustrating”.
