Turkey-backed FSA encircles YPG-held Afrin

As Syrian FSA fighters take up positions outside Afrin, the International Red Cross is reminding all parties that civilians and evacuees must be treated humanely.

    Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says he hopes the northern Syrian town of Afrin will be totally encircled by the end of the day.

    The fighting between Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) rebels and Kurdish fighters has displaced thousands of people and for those left, water supplies have been cut, as well as internet access.
