Saturday’s UK weather forecast — as rain clears overnight, it looks drier and brighter in the afternoon

However wind is set to pick up and there will be heavy rain in northern parts of the UK.

 

UK weather forecast for 6am on Saturday

Today we can expect to see dry weather for most people across the country.

There will be sunny spells throughout the day however do expect to see some showers especially in the north and moving towards the west.

The heaviest rainfall and most frequent showers are expected over western Scotland. The south of the country will remain at a mild temperature.

UK outlook for Wednesday 26 December 2018 to Friday 4 January 2019

This year's Boxing Day should be mostly settled with a ridge of high pressure across the UK. Southerly wind will mean mild air spreads across many parts of the UK meaning Boxing Day should be relatively cloudy with a few drizzly patches towards the west.

The rest of December and moving into January will see variable amount of cloud and normal temperatures. Any clear spells overnight will bring a risk of frost or fog.

Northern parts of the UK are likely to see showery periods or longer spells of rain and strong winds.

UK outlook for Saturday January 5 2019 to Saturday 19 January 2019

In general the weather will be settled and dry across the south with a normal amounts of cloud and overnight mist.

Early January will see more showers and longer spells of rain and stronger winds affecting all parts.

Then, further into January it will become colder and drier than normal with the chance of easterly winds.

This could see an increased chance of snow across many areas. Despite the potential change to colder weather through mid-January, some milder, wet and windy interludes remain possible throughout the period.
