Michael Jackson ‘was using Lisa Marie Presley to acquire Elvis’ music’

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Michael wanted her dad’s songs – not her.’ Jackson never loved his wife Lisa Marie Presley, made her sleep in the guest room and was ruthlessly using her to acquire Elvis’ music catalog, King of Pop’s former maid claims

  • Adrian McManus, who worked for four years as Michael Jackson’s personal maid at Neverland ranch, claims the singer never loved his first wife Lisa Marie Presley
  • Her claim is similar to rape accuser James Safechuck’s in Leaving Neverland, where he alleges Jackson told him his relationships with women were for show
  • McManus insists that Jackson was planning to usurp Lisa’s rights to her rock and roll legend father’s fortune and rights to more than 1,000 of his songs
  • She said: ‘He wrote a note on his ”to do” board, which read, ”Got to acquire the song list for Elvis’… Not long after Lisa Marie turned up at the house’
  • McManus felt sorry for Presley, who got together with Jackson in 1993, saying to DailyMailTV: ‘Lisa was kind of played for a fool, sad to say. But I think she learned’
  • McManus also alleges the couple did not consummate their marriage, adding even when the two began seeing each other, Jackson  kept inviting boys over
  • The former maid says Lisa Marie and Jackson had a strange relationship, adding: ‘They were more like friends than lovers; there wasn’t a lot of chemistry’

Michael Jackson never loved his first wife Lisa Marie Presley and was using her to acquire her legendary father Elvis’ huge catalog of music, his former personal maid exclusively told DailyMail.com.

Adrian McManus, who worked for the King of Pop for four years at his Neverland ranch, had a unique insight into the couple’s brief relationship.

The 56-year-old backs a similar claim made by rape accuser James Safechuck in the recent HBO documentary Leaving Neverland, where Safechuck alleges Jackson told him that his relationships with women were all for show.

He says that Jackson once warned him that he might have to be seen with women, or appear to be in a romantic relationship- but it was all for show.

This became particularly significant after a lawsuit brought by his first accuser Jordan Chandler was settled for a reported $23 million – with Jackson marrying Lisa Marie Presley to show the world he was ‘normal’.

McManus felt sorry for Presley, a singer and model when she and Jackson first got together in 1993, telling DailyMailTV: ‘I don’t think he was being genuine to her. He wanted Elvis’ legacy and I think Lisa was kind of played for a fool, sad to say. But I think she learned’

Now McManus insists that not only did Jackson not love Presley, but he was planning to usurp rights to her rock and roll legend father’s fortune and rights to more than 1,000 of Elvis’ songs.

McManus felt sorry for Presley, a singer and model when she and Jackson first got together in 1993, telling DailyMailTV: ‘What I felt with Lisa Marie, she was very kind. I think that Lisa really truly had a thing for Michael.

‘I think she really liked him and the sad part is I had read notes that Michael had in his bedroom.

‘He wrote a note on his bedroom ”to do” board, which read, ”Got to acquire the song list for Elvis”.

‘It was pinned up on a piece of paper in ink, next to notes saying things like, ”I want to heal the universe” and ”I want to walk hand in hand with Prince Andrew’s children.”

‘I thought his Elvis note was a business plan, like when he bought the Beatles catalog.

‘Not long after Lisa Marie turned up at the house – Michael never mentioned her before.

‘So I don’t think he was being genuine to her. He wanted Elvis’ legacy and I think Lisa was kind of played for a fool, sad to say. But I think she learned.’

McManus, speaking from her home in Nipomo, California, also alleges the couple did not consummate their marriage.

‘I don’t believe anything sexual happened between them at all and I think after she married him, she realized he just wanted what she had,’ she said.

Lisa’ Marie’s representative did not respond to our request for comment.

Accuser Safechuck, who is now in his early 40s, spoke out about the alleged abuse in the HBO documentary Leaving Neverland

Shortly after they became involved in 1993, Jackson was hit with the first set of child sexual abuse allegations, followed by similar allegations in 2003.

McManus said: ‘Yeah, there were always boys.’

The former maid said she was shocked that youngsters would still be invited over for sleepovers even after Jackson was accused of abusing Jordy Chandler.

‘I think that Michael couldn’t stop what he was doing,’ she said.

‘He was too far into what he was doing with the boys and I think that in his mind he thought, ”Well, people won’t believe it, because I do good in this world.”

‘I think he started falling down when people came up like me and four others and told what we had seen.

‘I think when the truth kind of came out, I think a part of that destroyed him and he realized the world knows and I think that’s why he began to fall in his life to get worse and worse.’

Jackson had made it clear that only McManus and Lisa Marie could access to his bedroom.

The maid, who still has a note from MJ saying, ‘Adrian do my room only,’ had a unique insight into the couple’s three year relationship.

They met in 1993, married on May 26, 1994, before divorcing 15 months later in August 1996.

McManus recalls seeing them interact, saying: ‘We had a surreal moment where he hugged her in front of me by the back door,’ she said.

‘He (Jackson) just looked at me with this wry smile, where we both knew what he was thinking.

‘I caught his eye again and he looked down laughing – I had his number.

‘He thought he could manipulate Lisa Marie to get hold of her dad’s music catalog, Michael wanted her dad’s songs – not her.’

McManus said: ‘Lisa Marie and Michael (pictured at Neverland ranch in 1995) had a strange relationship. She came to the house quite a few times… Lisa Marie never even stayed over in his room that I can remember; Michael always made her stay in the guest unit or Rose Room’

Jackson being seen with women became particularly significant after a lawsuit brought by his first accuser Jordan Chandler (pictured with Jackson in 1993) was settled for a reported $23 million – with Jackson marrying Lisa Marie Presley to show the world he was ‘normal’

McManus continued: ‘Lisa Marie and Michael had a strange relationship. I never saw them have any real genuine romantic interaction. She came to the house quite a few times, but they were always fooling round. They were more like friends than lovers; there wasn’t a lot of chemistry.

‘Lisa Marie never even stayed over in his room that I can remember; Michael always made her stay in the guest unit or Rose Room.

‘One day Michael called me into his room and asked me to tidy the bed. I could smell perfume, which was sprayed over the sheets, and a bra was just laid underneath the bed.

‘Lisa Marie hadn’t been there, but I felt Michael was trying to prove to me that they were dating.

‘I felt sorry for Lisa as she was genuinely in love with him, and taken in by the nice, playful side of Michael – she never saw the man who locked himself away with children. I was surprised when they got married.’

McManus recalls how Jackson would always keep the boys separate from Lisa Marie.

‘I think he married Lisa Marie to prove to the world that he liked women and was straight,’ she said.

‘It was his own way of gaining the world’s approval after the child abuse allegations of Jordy.’

She added: ‘Michael was a shrewd businessman. Look at what he did to Paul McCartney with the Beatles songs. Paul trusted him and Michael just took the information and did the deal to get Paul’s songs. People often forget that, and that shows how ruthless he was.’

Jackson never did manage to acquire any rights to Elvis Presley’s catalog, however. Following his death on August 16, 1977, at Graceland, the King’s music catalog was owned entirely by ‘The Elvis Presley Trust’, to which Lisa Marie eventually became the only surviving beneficiary

From 1990, McManus spent four years as Jackson’s personal maid – one of just a few staff to have access to the star’s bedroom, bathroom and secret chambers

Following his death on August 16, 1977, at Graceland, the King’s music catalog was owned entirely by ‘The Elvis Presley Trust’, to which Lisa Marie eventually became the only surviving beneficiary.

In 2005, entertainment company CKX, which later became Core Media, bought an 85 percent stake in Elvis Presley Enterprises from the trust of Lisa Marie Presley for a reported $114 million.

McManus’ claims about Jackson and Presley echo those of accuser Safechuck.

He said in the HBO documentary: ‘I remember Michael saying to me that he is going to have to have these public relationships with women, so people do not think anything. He always said he would have to go get married at some point – but that it would not mean anything.’

The former maid admits that she was ‘shocked at the level of abuse’ revealed by Robson and Safechuck in the two-part film

The former maid admits that she was ‘shocked at the level of abuse’ revealed by Robson and Safechuck in the two-part film.

She said: ‘I felt so sorry for those little boys, because they both were brainwashed, manipulated and terrified by Michael all at once.’

However McManus feels that parents of Robson and Safechuck are to blame for the abuse they claim occurred in his bedroom.

She said: ‘And the parents of these children I think were blinded again by celebrity and I think some maybe didn’t care, because Michael would give the parents his credit card and let them go shop – whatever you want.

”So hey, I’ll leave my kid there and this is my opportunity to go on a shopping spree and get things that maybe I can’t afford.”

McManus recently revealed to DailyMailTV that she believed her former boss was a ‘pedophile’.

She supported the claims of Robson and Safechuck adding that Jackson sexually abused ‘dozens’ of children, filmed his sick encounters and kept the footage in a secret library hidden at his Neverland ranch.

She says he brought a long line of young boys into his bedroom and that she saw many troubling things while cleaning up after him.

McManus claims she often fished Jackson’s and children’s underwear from his Jacuzzi and baths at the home, and witnessed kids walking around barely clothed.
