It comes as Britain is in the grips of a knife crisis as 42 people have been stabbed to death across the country so far this year – including 12 in the span of a fortnight.

Last week was marred with the tragedies of 17-year-old Jodie Chesney and Spaniard David Martinez.

Two teens were stabbed in West and North London last night and in the early hours of Saturday police were probing a disturbing triple-stabbing at Medleys club in Northfields, Birmingham.

Scotland Yard chiefs recently unveiled plans to tackle the knife epidemic by stop-and-searching ONE THOUSAND knife suspects every day.

Met Deputy Assistant Commissioner Graham McNulty said the aim of the operation was "to put as many feet on the streets as possible."

He told the Evening Standard: "This is a tragedy and we want to do everything we can to make sure that more young lives aren’t lost.

"We know stop-and-search has an impact on people carrying knives because word goes around when we are doing it. We see it as a life saver."

Cops have already carried out 6,337 stop and searches in the first week of March alone.

It comes as the UK murder rate soars to the highest number for a decade.

Knife crime has also increased by eight per cent as violence spirals out of control across the country.
