Lotto winner whose £4m jackpot is being held up ‘is now homeless’

Lotto winner whose £4m jackpot is being held up over claims he bought ticket with stolen bank card ‘is now homeless and swigging cider in the street’

  • Mark Goodram, 36, from Manchester, was spotted drinking cider on the streets
  • Last month he was accused of using stolen card to buy a £10 lottery scratchcard
  • Goodram and friend Jon-Ross Watson then took to social media to flaunt ticket

A criminal who was accused of using a stolen debit card to land his staggering £4million lottery win is now homeless, according to a friend.

Father-of-two Mark Goodram, 36, from Bolton, Greater Manchester, and friend Jon-Ross Watson, 31, are believed to have bought the winning scratchcard with a stolen bank card before going onto social media to flaunt the jackpot in April.

However the lottery winner, who has since been refused the winning money by National Lottery chiefs Camelot, has now been spotted on the streets after a former flat mate allegedly asked him to leave her property.

According to The Mirror, Goodram, who won the jackpot shortly after being released from prison, was seen drinking cider on the streets of Bolton on Friday.

A friend told the paper: ‘You hear about rags to riches, but he has gone from the champagne lifestyle, thinking he was a millionaire, to being on the street, drinking cheap cider and hanging with beggars.

‘He came out of prison not long before his win, but he has been booted out and now he is on harder times than ever.

‘He is really frustrated because of the hold on his winnings, but he still believes he’ll get the money and says he will take Camelot to court if they don’t pay.’

The sighting comes less than a month after Goodram and Watson took to social media to flaunt their winning £4million ticket online.

After discovering their scratchcard had just won them a life far from the ones they currently lived, the two criminals, who have both appeared on lists of ‘Bolton’s Most Wanted’, sent a video to friends to express their joy.

During the video the two men were seen waving their winning ticket in the air and  shouting: ‘Four mil! Buzzing!.. I’ve won four million. Stop hating’.

However their gleeful faces were short-lived after lottery chiefs discovered that the pair did not own a bank account.

The two men later denied the allegations and claimed the scratchcard had been bought for them by a friend.

Upon finding out that Camelot was refusing to award them with their winnings Goodram told The Sun: ‘We will go to the police to report Camelot. They are being unscrupulous.

‘We’re just a couple of lucky guys. I know my rights. We have a winning ticket, now where’s our cash.’

According to reports Goodram has 22 convictions and was jailed for burglary last year while Watson has several convictions for offences including bank fraud.
