Instagram star hits back at those disgusted by her cellulite with powerful photo

Nowadays there’s so much pressure on young people to look and dress a certain way.

With social media use at an all-time high and celebs posting selfies in their underwear, it’s no wonder why many people struggle with body positivity.

But one woman has refused to be beaten down by body shamers and haters and instead chose to put them in their place with a powerful post on Instagram.

Lifestyle blogger and swim wear model, Ariella Nyssa recently shared a photo of herself in a bikini with her 196,000 followers and added an emotional caption hitting back at those who have criticised her appearance.

The 21-year-old revealed in the post that she has received many cruel comments about her cellulite, with one person even going as far as to tell her "your a** looks like my balls".

Another said she only had cellulite because she was "lazy" and "unhealthy".

Fed up of receiving these kinds of messages, she decided to send a message to all who might want to comment in the future.

She wrote: "Years ago I hated my cellulite. I was so insecure about it and as a result I made it my number one priority to tackle what most of society deems as an ‘unhealthy, unattractive flaw’.

"During this time I cut out all foods that I loved, I ran and ran on a treadmill and only ever did cardio at the gym.

"Throughout this time I was constantly tired, my immune system was poor and my mental health and self-worth were at an all-time low."

Luckily things turned around for Ariella.

She continued: "After years of trying different diets, I stopped and thought about what cellulite is. Why does it make me ‘unnatractive’? And you know what conclusion I came to? IT DOESN’T.

"Cellulite doesn’t make you any less beautiful. It isn’t a representation of your health and it DEFINITELY shouldn’t stop you from loving yourself."

Ariella went on to explain how she now goes to the gym more often than before, but opts to do weight training instead of cardio.

She also eats what she wants in moderation and claims to be the healthiest she’s ever been both physically and mentally – despite still having cellulite.

The model finished the post by adding: "A completely airbrushed and smooth body is nearly impossible to obtain and is not a representation of YOUR beauty."

More than 23,000 people have liked her post and taken the time to share their support.

One user commented: "Beautiful… inside and out!"

Another said: "I think you look amazing, f*** them body shaming trolls."

A third added: "You’re my new fave person and inspiration. keep being you and I’m so excited to follow someone so positive and confident."
