Dad of girl, 3, murdered by paedo warned her killer would strike again – only for him to knife woman after release

Vile Stephen Chafer, now 59, sexually assaulted little Lorraine Holt before stabbing her 39 times in 1979 – and struck again despite grief-stricken Jim's warnings.

The beast was freed in 2002 – even though Jim wrote dozens of heartfelt letters to the Home Office, the Parole Board, and even PM Tony Blair begging for him to stay inside.

But last year – as Jim predicted – he struck again.

He tried to behead dementia-stricken pensioner Fay Mills in an argument about a garden rake – leaving her so badly injured that cops thought she was dead.

He was jailed earlier this month at Cambridge Crown Court – and now Jim wants him locked up for good.

BEAST STRUCK AGAIN

He told the Sunday People: "That monster must never be let out again. He needs to die in a cell and rot in hell for what he has done.

"He’s ruined our family forever, he’s ruined his own family, but he was still let out of jail twice so he was free to ruin the Mills family too.

"This time around it was even worse, hearing all the horrible details again.

"The system needs to change. My daughter had no chance and Mrs Mills had no chance but he’s been given lots of chances.

"He was given a life sentence and life should mean life.”

A spokesperson for the Parole Board said: “Tragically, there are rare occasions when offenders go on to commit serious further offences after being released by the Parole Board.

"Whilst this represents an extremely small proportion of cases considered, we do take each case extremely seriously and work with others in the criminal justice system to ensure that lessons are learned to help to prevent further tragedies.”
