This is the hilarious moment a tiny parrot shows a dog the pecking order when he chases the pooch in circles around a kitchen floor.

Max lies on the floor in the doorway as the pair eye each other curiously – waiting to see who will make the first move.

Max, who was visiting the home with his owner on December 23, manages to stay just out of reach of the persistent Figzy throughout the clip.

Figzy then builds his speed, running close to the panicked pup as he continues to evade the chase

But towards the end, the parrot builds his speed, and very nearly reaches the panicked pup.

The parrot’s owner and filmer said: ‘My mother-in-law brought her dog, Max, over when she stayed on Christmas Eve.

‘I was worried my bird Figzy would get hurt by the young Max and should maybe put him in his cage.

‘This is when I walked in to find Figzy was in no danger and was showing Max the pecking order.’
