Who is Alex Beresford? Good Morning Britain weatherman and Dancing On Ice 2018 contestant

ALEX Beresford's experience of cold fronts on Good Morning Britain helped him excel on the ice rink but he was unable to go all the way on Dancing On Ice 2018.

Here's what we know about the weather presenter who took part in the ITV series…

Who is Alex Beresford, how old is he and what is his background?

Alex Beresford is a 38-year-old English meteorologist and ITV weather presenter, mostly known for being the resident forecaster on Good Morning Britain.

He was born on November 28, 1980, in Bristol and he has one brother.

Alex began his career in 2004 working for ITV West Country, initially as an auto-cue operator, before training as a weather presenter – and he soon moved to ITV Weather in 2007 as a national presenter.

That led him to become a resident weatherman for Daybreak, which subsequently became Good Morning Britain, and he remains there to this day.

He is second in command to Laura Tobin, but seeing as she's been on maternity leave for much of 2017 viewers have seen more of Alex on the daytime show.

However Alex is technically freelance so he can work wherever he likes, not being under contract.

His physical fitness stood him in good stead on the 2018 series of Dancing On Ice alongside the likes of Kem Cetinay, Brooke Vincent and Candice Brown.

He was paired up with Dancing On Ice veteran Brianne Delcourt and the pair left the show in week eight after falling agonisingly short of reaching the semi-finals.

What other shows has Alex presented?

In 2013 Alex presented his own three-part show for Channel 4 called The World's Weirdest Extreme Weather.

And a year later he presented Britain's Most Extreme Weather, in four parts, on the same channel.

In January 2016 he also fronted a special two-part show called Floods – Are We Ready For The Future? on ITV's Tonight programme.

What happened to Alex's cousin?

On March 16, 2019 Alex's cousin  Nathan Armstrong, 29, was killed on the same street where Crimewatch host Jill Dando was fatally shot in 1999.

CCTV caught Nathan — who was nicknamed “BFG” for his 6ft 7in frame — arguing with two men in the middle of posh Gowan Avenue, where houses sell for £1.5million.

Nathan lived with his mum 100 yards away in Fulham, South-West London.

Is Alex single?

Sorry, ladies. Alex is married to Natalie, who is clearly also his Instagram photographer.

They have a son called Cruz who is eight years old.

The family love going on holidays to exotic locations with Alex saying he loves the island of Barbados the most.
