Did Queen Victoria really have a half-sister?

Yes, Queen Victoria really did have a half-sister and little is known about her.

Even the cast and crew knew very little about the real-life historical figure.

Speaking to media including Express.co.uk, creator Daisy Goodwin said: “I had to read between the lines with Fedora’s character [in Queen Victoria’s diaries] because there isn’t very much known about her at all.

“What we do know is that they had a terrible falling out and Victoria went on a train through the principality where Fedora was living and Fedora was on the platform and Victoria didn’t stop the train.”

HOW MANY EPISODES ARE IN VICTORIA SEASON 3?

Goodwin added: “So that was something about the state of her relationship.”

Actress Kate Fleetwood, who portrays the princess, went on to explain: “It was only when I got the audition, I read the character. I didn’t know she had a sister, a half-sister and older.

“So no, I don’t know anything about her and actually the first thing you do when you got a job – I think the first thing actors like to do is buy lots off books on Amazon. I’ve got all sorts of weird books on my bookshelf at home of murderers, glance through it.

“I immediately went online and thought, ‘What books can I get on her?’ and there’s really nothing.”
