This Morning’s Phillip furiously tells off XR protester in brutal showdown

This Morning 's Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby spoke to an Extinction Rebellion protester about the Canning Town protest today, which halted tube services this morning.

Things got seriously frosty as the woman blasted Phillip for talking over her, saying: "Are you going to let me finish my answer, or do you just want to talk over me?"

Phillip hit back: "There is no need to be like that. You actually already made that point a moment ago."

The same thing happened again moments later, as Phillip said: "I don't want to talk over you again, but you've made that point… do you just plan on repeating yourself?"

Things got even more uncomfortable as the woman blasted Phillip and Holly for bumping their segment on the rebellion earlier this week.

She said: ""I don’t think we’ve got it wrong necessarily because today I’m sitting in this studio and we’ve been bumped three times from This Morning in the last 10 days.

"It's taken us to be this disruptive to get on your programme to talk about the emergency that we're facing."

Stunned Phil said: "Is that why you did it?"

Fans were fuming over the way the protestor spoke to Phillip as they rushed to social media to pledge their support for him.

One wrote: "Well this Extinction Rebellion woman on This Morning is going completely the wrong way at getting the point across. First don't you dare be rude to the silver fox Phillip and secondly in any debate you have to be prepared to listen to opposing arguments. She is not!"

Another added: "How can this women sit there and talk like that to Phillip Schofield? Behaving like that isn’t going to get her anywhere…. hahahah what a delusional woman."

A third chipped in: "Phillip is making a mug of this extinction rebellion t**t on this morning, thoroughly enjoying it."

But another argued: "What's Phillip's problem with the invited guest? Quite rude on This Morning.

"She’s right it does extreme action to have a voice on your programme or for people to listen."

Fans were also furious as the woman said she realised somebody would be hurt eventually, but the protesters were willing to do it for the cause.

This Morning continues tomorrow at 10.30am on ITV.
