Neil 'Razor' Ruddock reveals he's put ON weight since 'wake up call' about health on Harry's Heroes
NEIL Ruddock has revealed he has put on weight despite getting a “wake up call” filming Harry’s Heroes.
The 50-year-old appeared on today’s This Morning alongside wife Leah to discuss the issue – but the couple left viewers fuming as they continually spoke over each other.
The former footballer tipped the scales at 23 stone when he took part in the ITV shows, which saw Harry Redknapp manage group of ageing England stars as they battled to lose weight and get fit for a reunion with old rivals Germany.
He was told he was at a risk of a heart attack and need to lose at least five stone, but when he appeared on the morning TV show today he admitted he had put on 3lbs.
Neil, who is nicknamed Razor, said: “I think the show brought awareness to mental and physical health.
“I knew I had a bad knee anyway but I didn’t know what was happening inside. I am the joker of the pack and you think it is not going to happen to you but I went to see a doctor in Harley Street and it was a wakeup call really.”
But Eamonn pointed out how he had put on weight since they filmed the show last summer and scoffed: “Not that big of a scare.”
Razor replied: “It wasn’t that big of a scare but I have got to have my knees done because of the damage I am doing with my weight.”
They then went on to discuss why he struggled to lose weight while his wife Leah kept pointing out what he was doing wrong.
Those watching at home were surprised by his revelation but struggled with the interview as his wife Leah kept speaking at the same time as him.
