Marvel movies: What will the next Marvel movies be? When is the full scheduled revealed?

Marvel fans have followed the adventures of Tony Stark, Thor, the Incredible Hulk, Captain America and the other superheroes in the Marvel cinematic universe for many years. The record-smashing Avengers Endgame was the finale to phase three of Marvel’s interconnected set of movies. The film delivered big deaths and major hints about what else is to come in for the Marvel movies, but what are the next Marvel movies and when will they be out?

Spider-Man: Far From Home is the next Marvel movie to hit the big screens across the globe.

It will be the second Spiderman film with Tom Holland as protagonist Spiderman and is intended to be the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming which was released in 2017.

This movie is intended to drop on July 2, 2019 and will involve Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, heading to Europe for a school-sponsored trip.

The storyline is intended to show that he is struggling to deal with Tony Stark’s death.

Meanwhile, Nick Fury is pressuring him to be the future of the Avengers and introduces him to Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio, who says he’s from a different Earth that is part of a multiverse.

There is much speculation that this film will provide Marvel with an opening to introduce the X-Men.

The next Marvel film due to be released is The Eternals in 2020.

The Eternals are an offshoot of humanity that are effectively immortal and each have different types of powers, depending on the comic series.

The characters can be destroyed to the point that nothing but molecules remain, and they can still regenerate.

They were Earth’s original protectors and often do battle with the Deviants, who have similar powers to the Eternals.

This is believed to be one of the two movies Marvel has scheduled for release in 2020.

It is rumoured that Angelina Jolie will star in the film, as well beloved British Bodyguard actor Richard Madden.

The other film believed to be scheduled for release in 2020 is Black Widow.

Although the character Black Widow sacrificed herself in Endgame in order to obtain the Soul Stone and defeat Thanos, an untitled Black Widow solo film is still being undertaken by Marvel.

This movie is currently in pre-production and will likely explore the mysterious past of Scarlett Johansson’s character Natasha Romanov.

The Black Widow film is also believed to have actors Rachel Weisz and David Harbour starring alongside Miss Johansson.

In 2021, Marvel are expected to release three untitled films.

These are expected to be two sequels: Black Panther 2 and Doctor Strange 2, as well as introduce Marvel’s first Asian superhero, Shang Chi.

In 2022, another two untitled films have been scheduled for release.

One of these films is expected to be fan favourite Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 which was delayed when James Gunn was brought back aboard to write and direct the film.

Filming will begin in 2020 and could well include Asguardians as well as the typical Guardians.

The other film expected to debut in 2022 is a Captain Marvel sequel which will likely occur sometime between the first film, which is set in 1995, and Avengers: Endgame.

Other films that are rumoured to potential future Marvel movies are the fifth Avengers film, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool 3, Namor the Sub-Mariner and Blade.

All of these are concepts that Disney owns the rights to and therefore it seems probable that these will likely become feature films in the Marvel future.
