Little Mix's Jesy Nelson DUMPS Love Island’s Chris Hughes after just three weeks over fears he only wanted her for publicity

The Little Mix star, 27, ended their short-lived romance after pals grew concerned the Love Island hunk was using her name to boost his profile.

Alarm bells started to ring for those closest to Jesy after the pair were pictured kissing at a South London kebab shop – with some questioning how their relationship became public so quickly.

A source said: “Chris has been upset by the break-up.

“But Jesy has explained that she needs to protect herself and her career – and taking their romance any further was proving a massive risk.

“Out of nowhere their relationship became public and they were photographed snogging.

“Some of Jesy’s pals are questioning how the paparazzi knew they were there.

“For now she’s going to enjoy being single until the right man comes along for her to spend her time with.”

Their split came after Jesy’s bandmate Perrie Edwards said Chris “seems really nice” when asked about him during a radio interview – though she also admitted to not having met the Love Island star.

Jesy will be on high alert after her previous romance with former Towie star Chris Clark ended amid reports he only dated her for his own advantage.

Chris finished with Jesy over the phone while she was on tour – and gave little explanation for why he was cutting ties.

Just days after their split he reconciled with his ex-co-star Amber Dowding and Jesy’s misfortune became a storyline for the reality series.

Her fling with Chris, whose romance with Olivia Attwood ended last year, came shortly after Jesy parted ways with boyfriend Harry James following 16 months together.

But lucky for Jesy her Little Mix commitments provide a healthy distraction from her love life.

She’ll be gearing up for this year’s Brit Awards where the girl band are confirmed to perform alongside rising star Ms Banks.

There’ll be plenty of eligible bachelors at the after-party to help her get over any heartache.
