Line of Duty’s fourth H REVEALED in major plot twist?

Line of Duty’s Superintendent Ted Hastings came under fire during last night’s finale.

The Line of Duty cast member was questioned by DCS Patricia Carmichael about conspiring to murder John Corbett throughout the episode, but things took a dramatic turn when Gill Bigelowe arrived to help him.

After DS Steve Arnott and DI Kate Fleming realised who had organised for John to joint the Organised Crime Group, and raced to the interview room to reveal that Gill has behind Ted’s arrest.

The pair then watched Dot Cottan’s dying declaration, and Kate realised he was doing Morse code, which revealed there were actually four H’s.

Gill Bigelowe, Derek Hilton, and Dot were three, but the identity of the fourth is yet to be revealed.

But fans think they have worked out who it is, and it is a major throwback to season one.

One viewer posted on social media: “Hmm! Said it 2 years ago and still say it. How about Chief Inspector Osborne as our main man from series one?

“Made Steve lie, pally with top brass and Hilton, here with ‘The Caddy’? Would take the story full circle, just saying. ‘H’ was always too obvious!”

Another added: “So throwing out theories, the 4th bent copper in my hues is one of these: Morton, Dryden or Osborne – I’m leaning towards Osborne because the dude always plays a baddie!”

A third chipped in: “I think the fourth person is Chief Inspector Osborne from series 1, actor Owen Teale.”

A fourth wrote: I think it could be Osborne from series 1? He’s a senior officer that most people have forgotten about. For sure it has to be someone who no one suspects and was around at the beginning of the show.”

Could H be Osbourne?

Line of Duty will return for a sixth and final series on BBC.
