Game of Thrones season 8: Daenerys Targaryen to lose ANOTHER dragon after prophecy clue?

Game of Thrones has seen many prophecies and rumours come to pass in its seven seasons so far.

And season eight will no-doubt see another set of rumours come true – but fans have been looking into the previous prophecies brought up way back in season two.

Daenerys (played by Emilia Clarke) saw a prolific vision in season two which saw her entering the doors of the King’s Landing throne room.

But the symbolism in the vision saw Daenerys leaving her husband at the time – Khal Drogo (Jason Momoa) – to be with her dragons.

But she quickly turned back when she heard her dragons crying.

And fans of the show believe this scene may repeat itself in the upcoming episodes.

One fan explained: “[In the] S2 vision: Dany going towards the throne, but is drawn beyond the wall – then, in S7, Dany was going to go attack King’s Landing and take the throne by force, but she was told Jon and company beyond The Wall needed rescuing.

“[In the] S2 vision: Dany hearing the dragon cries – S7 the dragons crying beyond the wall after Viserion was killed by the Night King.”

With a lot of speculation surrounding Deanerys’s recent hook-up with Jon Snow (Kit Harington) fans believe it will be revealed she is pregnant.

But if she gives birth in the upcoming season will she then begin prioritising her new family over her dragons?

And if so, will Daenerys see the vision repeat itself, and watch another of her dragons die if she leaves them for a family once again?

If that is the case, the Night King (Vladimír Furdík) may end up with yet another ice-dragon at his disposal.

It certainly looks like the Night King could gain some ground in the upcoming season, as revealed in a brand new sneak peek of the first episode.

Melisandre actor Carice van Houten posted a video of the first episode on Instagram at the season eight premiere.

The video shows off the miniature mechanical cities as featured in the show’s introduction – however there’s a big change.

The introduction showed off the cities and landscapes covered in snow – hinting towards the Night King’s oncoming influence.

But does this mean Jon and Daenerys will lose some of their battles in the upcoming episodes?

If so, they will certainly be at a huge disadvantage in the final episodes of the show.

Fans only have a week to wait until they find out what will happen in the upcoming episodes.

Game of Thrones season 8 premieres on April 14 on HBO and Sky Atlantic on April 15.
