Danny Baker BACK on the BBC tonight just weeks after being sacked over 'racist' Meghan Markle baby storm

SACKED radio host Danny Baker will appear on the BBC tonight – just two weeks after his "racist" royal baby tweet storm.

Baker, 61, will front People's History of Pop on BBC4 – a repeat of the programme first shown in 2016.

The show will look at popular songs from 1966 to 1976 – which Baker describes as "the years of his youth".

It will explore The Beatles’ iconic Sgt Pepper to the birth of Britain's music festival scene.

Former Radio 5 Live presenter Baker was sacked on May 9 after provoking a Twitter storm over a photo posted following the birth of Meghan Markle's royal baby Archie.

He tweeted a photo of a chimp in a suit captioned: "Royal baby leaves hospital."

Baker then told the BBC boss who fired him "f*** you and f*** off".

GROVELLING APOLOGY

But the presenter later admitted he "f***ed up" and said the post was a "catastrophic" mistake.

In a grovelling tweet, he told his 500,000 followers: "Good morning, everyone.

"Following one of the worst days of my life I just want to formally apologise for the outrage I caused and explain how I got myself into this mess.

"I chose the wrong photo to illustrate a joke. Disastrously so.

"I would like once and for all to apologise to every single person who, quite naturally, took the awful connection at face value.

"I understand that and all of the clamour and opprobrium I have faced since.

"I am not feeling sorry for myself. I f***ed up. Badly."

The BBC has been approached for comment.

Baker was a presenter at BBC Radio 5 Live from 1990-93 before rejoining in 2008 until his sacking this month.
