Dancing on Ice professional Vanessa Bauer 'slammed as 'icy' by rink staff after spat with Megan Barton Hanson'

The Dancing on Ice professional skater reportedly rubbed staff up the wrong way while training with Love Island star Wes Nelson.

A source told Mirror Online: "I'm not surprised Megan had a spat with her. She was a right [b****}, proper icy."

The insider added: "You said good morning to her and she’d look you up and down and not say anything."

But an ITV spokesman has told the SunOnline: "This could not be further from the truth – Vanessa has never shown anything other than courtesy and respect towards the production staff."

It comes after she poked fun at her drama-filled week – shortly after Dancing On Ice viewers spotted her "awkward" hug with celebrity partner Wes Nelson.

Fans took to social media earlier this evening to point out the pair's "uncomfortable" reaction after they were voted through to next week's show.

While the other couples enthusiastically celebrated and hugged one another as their names were announced, Wes seemed more unsure – with fans claiming that it was because he was worried about his girlfriend Megan Barton Hanson.

But Vanessa appeared  less concerned about the 24-year-old model, taking to Instagram to gush about her and 20-year-old Wes' success on the ITV programme.

Sharing a photo of herself stood beside the Love Island hunk, Vanessa wrote: "Top of the leaderboard whaaaaaaat?!

"What a way to end this week.

"Thank you sooo much for your support."

Earlier in the evening, Wes grinned and pulled Vanessa into a chummy, one-armed embrace as hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield announced that fans had voted them through.

While the professional skater cosied up to her partner, Wes appeared to be maintaining a distance – world's apart from the affectionate way the other couples celebrated their own success.

Noticing the uncomfortable exchange, one viewer simply tweeted: "Awkward hug."

Another wrote: "I love how Wes can’t even hug Vanessa or show any sign of affection because psycho Megan will kick off."

A third remarked: "Wes and Vanessa legit didn’t celebrate like the rest just in case Megan kicks off and accuses Vanessa of stealing her man."

Wes and Vanessa managed to knock dance pro James Jordan off the leader-board top spot in tonight's show – scoring an impressive 29.5 for their skate to You Can't Stop The Beat from Hairspray.

It has been a difficult week for the pair, with Megan hitting the headlines after publicly slamming Vanessa for not introducing herself at last week’s show.

Megan also accused the pro of a calculated split from her boyfriend, and said she was hurt she had never been invited down to watch the pair train.

Having branded Vanessa "disrespectful", Megan admitted to The Sun that she hated watching Wes’ romantic routines with his ice partner.

However, the Love Island star did text Vanessa to try and end the feud later in the week, and admitted during an appearance on Loose Women that she is "jealous and selfish".

Megan was notably absent from the audience for tonight's show, with her and Wes' Love Island co-stars Adam Collard and Sam Bird supporting Wes in the studio instead.

The blonde beauty has made no reference to the show on social media, and is yet to publicly congratulate Wes and Vanessa on their triumph.
