Coronation Street spoilers: Ken Barlow clashes with Bailey family as new feud begins

Coronation Street recently welcomed the Bailey family and according to official soap spoilers, it is not long until they are upsetting the neighbours.

It comes as fan-favourite Norris Cole (played by Malcolm Hebden) decided to sell Number 3 Coronation Street and Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw), Edison (Trevor Michael Georges), Michael (Ryan Russell) and James Bailey (Nathan Graham) are the proud new owners.

Understandably, Aggie and Edison want to redecorate the house and in recent scenes, Ed cleared the contents into a skip, much to the annoyance of Ken Barlow (William Roache) from Number 1.

But in upcoming scenes, the Baileys are going to make structural changes and this is the start of a war between neighbours.

Changing up the layout in the house, viewers will see Edison hammer through a wall straight into Ken’s living room.

Mistaking the wall he should have knocked through, the two neighbours are faced with very little privacy until the hole is fixed. And this is when the problems begin.

Claudia Colby (Rula Lenska) spends much of her time round at Ken’s house and she is going to find herself clashing with Aggie.

Determined to have the upper hand, things turn nasty as the Baileys, excluding Edison, take it in turns to deliberately annoy the Barlows.

Switching on every power tool in their possession, they make as much noise as possible.

But they are met with Claudia and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) reciprocating annoyance, armed with violins making an unbearable screeching noise.

With the women determined to continue the noise war for as long as possible, Ken and Ed get bored very quickly and call a truce, heading off to the Rovers Return for a drink.

When Aggie and Claudia realise their other halves have buried the hatchets, will the ladies become friends too?

It follows, actress Lorna Laidlaw who plays Aggie spoke out about the importance of her character being friends with the Barlows in order to be accepted within Weatherfield.

“We need to be friends with Ken – go to the top and the rest will follow,” she joked to Inside Soap.

“We have to get in with Ken. Once we’re comfortable on the Street and everybody is comfortable with us, we’ll have to host a housewarming. The Baileys will throw the best parties!”

Will Claudia and Aggie become friends?

Meanwhile, there is suspicion surrounding the Bailey family’s past.

During a conversation which played out in last night’s episode of the soap, Aggie hinted at the decision to move being out of her control.

“I know you didn’t want to live here,” Michael said before Aggie hit back: “Yeah well we didn’t have much choice now did we?”

Does Aggie’s comment suggest something happened and forced them to move?

Coronation Street returns tomorrow night at 7.30pm on ITV.
