Coronation Street spoilers: David Platt in terrifying burglary ordeal as Shona's evil son Clayton sends a heavy to break into their house

From his jail cell, he’ll direct one of his henchmen on the outside to break into the Platt house following his mum Shona’s refusal to help him with a scheme to get him moved into a low security prison.

Shona pays her son – who viewers know stabbed David’s wife Kylie to death– a visit in prison to break the news to him that his dad has died of an overdose.

But Shona – who is played by Julia Goulding – is stunned when Clayton tells her he’s being bullied inside and wants her help to get him moved to an open prison.

Shona calls on Imran Habeeb – Charlie de Melo – for advice but he doesn’t hold out much hope considering Clayton is a murderer.

When Shona heads back to the prison to tell Clayton a move doesn’t look likely, she’s left chilled by his response.

Clayton tells her he has a plan B and is furious when Shona tells him she won’t be part of it.

Meanwhile, David – Jack P Shepherd – is feeling useless that he can’t help Shona.

Later, while the couple are heading for bed, someone is busy picking the lock of the back door.

We revealed earlier this month that evil Clayton – who is played by Callum Harrison – would be making a return to the cobbles later this year when he is released to attend the funeral of a friend and makes a run for it.

And a Corrie trailer showed the character, who killed Kylie in 2016, would be rushed to hospital needing urgent treatment following an incident in prison.
