Cheryl in talks about reality show search for ultimate ‘glam squad’ of hair stylists and make-up artists

I can reveal The Greatest Dancer judge is in talks about launching a series where she will scour the nation for the ultimate “glam squad”.

The idea will involve auditioning beauticians, hair stylists and make-up  artists in a bid to find the  best. She is in discussion with Thames TV, makers of her current BBC1 dance show. A telly source said: “When it comes to hair and beauty Cheryl is a real expert and would love to help bring through the next generation of talent.

“It’s in the early stages but there’s a huge belief in the show.”

Her venture comes after Strictly’s Stacey Dooley was announced this month as the host of BBC3’s  show Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star despite having no experience in the field.

Meanwhile, Cheryl knows talent shows better than anybody after joining Girls Aloud on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 and then being a judge on The X Factor in 2008.

She’s was previously a brand ambassador for L’Oreal and  fronts hair extension company Easilocks, so she is more than qualified.

But despite usually looking immaculate, Cheryl has had her share of style disasters. She revealed recently: “When I was about 15, I dyed my hair really bleached blonde. It meant my hair was in terrible condition and I thought I could solve it with a home kit, but  that didn’t work. I also cut my hair  into a bob when I was 19 and hated it.”

It’s probably best that someone else does her barnet these days by the sounds of it.

The Greatest Dancers?

OTI Mabuse, Matthew Morrison and Cheryl deliberate over which acts to bring through to the live shows  on The Greatest Dancer.

The captains are tasked with picking three acts each week to battle for the first prize of £50,000 in the live rounds, which start on February 2.

I’d take up tap lessons for that amount of money.

Must watch

WHAT? The Paras: Men of War, ITV, 9pm.

WHY? The final episode of this show looking  at the gruelling work of the elite regiment. This week they go on a joint exercise  to the Latvian border with a US Army division.

MORE MURDER WITH MORGAN

The Good Morning Britain host’s Confessions Of A Serial Killer documentary will air on ITV on February 7. This time Piers meets Bernard Giles, who terrorised a Florida town by targeting young women  in 1973. He killed five.

Piers  said: “It’s one of the most extraordinary encounters I’ve probably ever had with anybody.”

The series is genuinely a brilliant watch.

Biz bit

TABOO writer Steven Knight is planning just one more series of the BBC1 drama starring Tom Hardy as the second run prepares for filming. He said: “If we all want to keep doing it, it would be three series. That’s my plan.”

Euro acts X-tremely familiar

WE’LL all be forgiven for feeling a bit of deja vu when we watch Eurovision: You Decide next month.

No fewer than four out of the six contestants in the battle to represent the UK in the big music competition in May  have appeared on other TV talent  shows.

Kerrie-Anne, Holly Tandy and Michael Rice were all on X Factor in recent years, while Jordan Clarke was in a group called Luminites on Britain’s Got Talent in 2013.

The  sing-off,  hosted by Mel Giedroyc  and 2015 Swedish Eurovision champ Mans Zelmerlowz, will feature just three songs this year as opposed to the usual six. That means two contestants will “duel” for the best version of each song.

It will air on BBC2 at 7.30pm on Friday, February 8, with the winner then going to perform against the world in Israel.

That will probably be the last time we’ll see them.

Biz bit

FORMER Strictly pro dancer Brendan Cole has blasted Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner’s “vicious” criticism of contestant Gemma Collins. It’s a bit rich coming from such a notorious motormouth.

Jungle beast

THE Chase star Mark “The Beast” Labbett has his eye on two new jobs in showbiz.

He wants to follow in the footsteps of co-star Anne Hegerty by signing up for this year’s I’m A Celebrity.

He said: “They did interview me two years ago but I was 27 stone and they thought, ‘No!’.

“I’m down to about 23 or 24st now. It’s a great opportunity.”

Mark also wants to be a  Bond villain and collared Bodyguard star Richard Madden, in case he becomes  007.

“I told him, ‘Oi Madden, if you need a villain, come see me’.”

SOAPBOX

IN EMMERDALE Harriet makes a rather upsetting discovery, Victoria drops a bombshell, and Manpreet attempts to secure her future.

Elsewhere, frustrated Brenda lashes out, while Jessie decides it’s time to make an admission.

In NEIGHBOURS Terese agrees to let Leo move back in after she finds out why Paul is  avoiding her.

Meanwhile, Sheila voices her suspicions about Gary and Dipi to Yashvi, while Bea and Ned are reconciled.

In HOME AND AWAY Willow reaches breaking point and tells Justin she is no longer prepared to shut Dean out of her life, while Maggie makes an emotional opening speech at her big cancer research fundraiser.
