Beloved Emmerdale character dies in suicide shock as exit confirmed?

Emmerdale’s Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) will be leaving after five years on the soap.

Emmerdale spoilers predicted he would be sent to prison for killing his sister Victoria Sugden’s (Isabel Hodgins) rapist Lee.

Speculation has been rife about how Robert will leave the soap, as he is married to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and is also a big part of Victoria’s rape storyline.

The brother and sister have recently clashed after Robert became hellbent on revenge on Lee, landing Victoria in trouble as Lee later accused her of harassment.

Fans have been taking to social media to predict how Robert will be leaving the show, and some of the theories are very dark.

One viewer wrote: “Possible theories I have heard about Robert leaving: killed by Lee; goes to prison; something happens that makes him just leave; an accident kills him/he dies; he commits suicide.”

Another added: “It’s just hard to believe that anything else than prison or death would force Robert to leave.”

A third chipped in: “For me the only exit that would make sense and be in character would be Rob dying. No way in hell would Rob risk his future with Aaron for revenge and going to prison, old Rob would have done that but not 2019 Rob.”

A fourth wrote: “We have watched, loved and cried at the RobRon storyline and if you end it in divorce I’m gonna cry so please kill off Robert please I beg (unless Danny leaves too) thank you.”

Could Robert be about to meet a tragic ending?

Other theories viewers had included Robert and Aaron deciding to leave the Dales together, and Robert being recast with another actor.

The soap is yet to confirm how Robert will leave the soap, but it is sure to be dramatic.

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
