A Place in the Sun: ‘Oh my GOSH’ Jasmine Harman speechless as couple make unexpected offer

Jasmine Harman, 43, was on hand to show five potential holiday home properties to newlyweds Katy and Dom from London on this afternoon’s edition of A Place in the Sun.

However, after being shown a couple of the properties at the start of the show, Jasmine surprised the pair by showing them around a villa with not one, but two swimming pools.

As Jasmine went on to show the couples their fifth and final property, Katy and Dom had already made up their minds and told the Channel 4 show host their minds weren’t going to be changed.

Meeting the newlyweds the following day, Jasmine was in two minds about whether they would make an offer on the villa and was blown way when they revealed how much they were willing to put down.

Joining Jasmine at the beach, Katy and Dan told the presenter they were going to bid on the property for a value of £120,000.

Taken a back by the offer, Jasmine exclaimed: “Oh my gosh, that’s exciting,” with the couple looking really pleased with themselves.

Dan went on to add: “We feel we need to do some work to it,” before admitting: “I think it’s a fair offer,” to which the presenter reiterated their sentiment.

Jasmine told the couple: “I’m really really excited for you.”

However, after calling the agent there was a moment of panic when it seemed the pair could’ve been outbid.

Following another phone call with the agent, Jasmine told the couple the seller would only accept an offer of £123,850 or higher.

Fortunately, it didn’t take long for the couple to decide they couldn’t miss out on the property.

The presenter could be seen covering her mouth in shock as she hadn’t expected them to make a higher offer.

After another phone call with the agent, Jasmine congratulated Dan and Katy as they became the new owners of the Spanish villa.

Having been the host of the show since its inception in 2004, Jasmine recently revealed to Express.co.uk about a particular scene she refused to film.

Recounting a time she was filming in Portugal for the series, Jasmine explained her refusal to film the scene was down to the fact she is a vegan.

Jasmine said: “I had just given birth and had just gone back to work with my newborn son and I was breast feeding.

“I said to the director, ‘Are you actually asking me to promote a place that kills babies when they’re still breastfeeding from their mothers and eats them when I’ve got a baby myself?’”

The presenter continued: “I was like, ‘Are you absolutely insane? There is no way that I am going to do that.’”

Explaining in more detail about her views since becoming a vegan in 2013, Jasmine added: “Since I’ve gone vegan I feel like I don’t have to promote anything that I don’t agree with.”

Jasmine also spoke about ever leaving the show, saying: “I’ve never considered leaving the show to work on other things.

“I’ve obviously worked on others because I’m not filming every week. Theres plenty of room to do other things if I wanted to.

“For as long as they want me and the more they continue making shows I hope I’ll still be involved in it.”

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4.
