Kim Kardashian Spills On Hysterical Reaction to Kanye West’s Slavery Comment

Kim Kardashian was hysterical over the controversial slavery comments her husband Kanye West made earlier this year.

The outspoken rapper hit headlines in April when he suggested slavery was “a choice” for African-Americans during an appearance on TMZ Live.

Many fans suggested Kanye was suffering another breakdown after the bizarre interview and, in an upcoming episode of Kim’s reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians“, she reveals to her friend Jonathan Cheban she was initially upset when she heard the comments.

“I rushed home, I was hysterically crying,” she says. “So I go home… he’s totally fine.”

“(I) can’t control what he says” she adds. “(He) loves being ramped up, (It makes him feel) powerful.”

Kim also explains Kanye didn’t understand why people were so upset over the controversial comments because he’s “always said crazy s**t (and) that’s why (he’s Kanye).”

Kim goes on to suggest Kanye’s statements were misrepresented on TMZ Live, and she knew what his intentions were.

“I always know what Kanye’s intentions are and what he’s trying to say, but I also know that they’re gonna write a headline and people are gonna assume that that’s exactly what you said and what you meant,” she says. “He didn’t say slavery is a choice, he was saying if you’re gonna still be enslaved for another 400 years than that’s some bulls**t. That, as a wife, is really frustrating to see the media take everything and run with it.”

Following the controversy caused by his remarks, Kanye attempted to clarify just what he had been thinking in a series of tweets.

“To make myself clear, of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on a boat by free will,” he previously wrote. “My point is for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved…”

Kim Kardashian Was 'Hysterically Crying' After Kanye West Called Slavery a 'Choice'

Kim Kardashian knows the true Kanye West.

In a sneak peek from Sunday’s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the reality star discusses her husband’s controversial slavery comments.

“He’s doing good; everyone thinks he’s having a breakdown,” Kardashian says after her friend Jonathan Cheban asks how the rapper is doing just days after the incident.

In May, West made headlines after implying that slavery was a “choice” for African-Americans during an interview on TMZ Live, where he also repeatedly proclaimed his love for polarizing President Donald Trump.

Accompanied by conservative commentator Candace Owens, the outspoken artist sounded off on the centuries African-Americans spent shackled in servitude.

“You hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years?! That sounds like a choice,” he said. “You were there for 400 years and it was all of y’all? It’s like we’re meant to be in prison. I like the word ‘prison’ because slavery goes too direct to the idea of blacks…Prison is something that unites us as one race.”

Kardashian admits that she drove home “hysterically crying” to check on West.

“I rushed home, I was hysterically crying,” she recalls. “So I go home…he’s totally fine.”

But Kardashian says she wasn’t surprised to find her husband in a relaxed state amid the scandal.

“When he gets ramped up, he can’t control what he says, he can’t let it go,” she explains. “He loves being ramped up. He’s like ‘I feel powerful when I’m ramped up. I don’t want to be so suppressed. Yeah, I say crazy s— but I’ve always said crazy s—. That’s why I’m Kanye.’”

And no matter what the rapper does or says, Kardashian says she will always have West’s back.

“I always know what Kanye’s intentions are and what he’s trying to say, but I also know that they’re gonna write a headline and people are gonna assume that that’s exactly what you said and what you meant,” she says. “He didn’t say slavery is a choice, he was saying if you’re gonna still be enslaved for another 400 years then that’s some bulls—.”

“That, as a wife, is really frustrating to see the media take everything and run with it,” she concludes.

West later apologized for the comments during an interview with 107.5 WGCI Chicago in August.

“I don’t know if I properly apologized for how the slavery comment made people feel,” the rapper, 41, said. “I’m sorry for the one-two effect of the MAGA hat into the slave comment, and I’m sorry for people that felt let down by that moment.”

Kim Kardashian Justifies Kanye's Slavery Comment with False Editing Claims on 'KUWTK'

Kim Kardashian is trying like hell to justify Kanye West‘s slavery comment — the problem is she’s fully misquoting her husband, and clearly does NOT remember what he actually said.

On the next episode of ‘KUWTK,’ she has a convo with Jonathan Cheban and Simon Huck about Kanye’s May 1 appearance on “TMZ Live” … and the convo is rife with falsehoods. First, Huck says “the way they edited that clip.” It was not edited.

Then there’s Kim saying this, “If you listen to what he said, he said, ‘Slavery was 400 years? If it’s gonna be another 400 years, that sounds like a choice to me.’ He didn’t say, ‘Slavery is a choice.'”

Here’s the clip, so you can listen to what Kanye actually said. There is clearly NO reference to a future 400 years. The actual quote – ”When you hear about slavery for 400 years, for 400 years??? That sounds like a choice. Like, you was there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all?”

Kim can have whatever interpretation she wants of Kanye’s words. We get that. But, to say we edited him or misquoted him … is a lie.

On the ‘KUWTK’ episode she adds, “Kanye’s slavery comment … he never said that. That was just the headline.”

Jarrod Spector Backtracks on Attack at Kanye West for Texting During ‘The Cher Show’

Broadway star Jarrod Spector has forgiven Kanye West for his lack of theatre ettiquette during the opening night of his new musical after the rapper apologised for staring at his phone through the first act.

Spector, who plays Sonny Bono in “The Cher Show”, took aim at Kanye via Twitter during the new musical’s intermission on Monday night (December 03) after spotting the “Stronger” star checking his mobile device in the audience.

“Hey @kanyewest so cool that you’re here at @TheCherShow!” he wrote. “If you look up from your cell phone you’ll see we’re doing a show up here. It’s opening night. Kind of a big deal for us. Thanks so much.”

Kanye was gracious enough to respond and apologise, writing: “the dynamics of Cher and Sonny’s relationship made (my wife) Kim (Kardashian) and I grab each other’s hand and sing ‘I got you babe’. please pardon my lack of etiquette. We have so much appreciation for the energy you guys put into making this master piece (sic).”

Spector has accepted the rapper’s apology, telling Entertainment Tonight his tweet was “just a quick goof”, adding, “he was standing and applauding at the end. I’m just glad that everyone in the audience, him included, enjoyed it.”

Cher was among the audience and Spector knows she’s a big fan: “She’s really gracious, she’s very forthright, which you would expect from watching her interviews. I think that’s one of the wonderful things about her, is she doesn’t pull punches. She’s always really genuine, that’s who she is.”

“She’s been so complimentary and overwhelmingly sweet to me, but there are times where she’s like, ‘It was hard to watch. I was unnerved… It was… eerie, to watch you!’ Those are the moments where I’m like, ‘I know it’s eerie. I know it’s weird. But I think that means I’m doing my job right’.”

Kim Kardashian's Dress Dips So Low in the Back, It Nearly Exposed Her, Er, Famous Assets

Kim Kardashian’s Dress Dips So Low in the Back, It Nearly Exposed Her, Er, Famous Assets

Silver sure does suit Kim Kardashian! Just one day after making our eyebrows hit the ceiling by wearing a teeny-tiny chainmail dress to the Versace pre-Fall fashion show, the reality star slipped into yet another dazzling number while attending The Cher Show on Broadway. A Versace dress inspired by a vintage design from the brand’s Fall 1998 collection, Kim’s gown is fringed, metallic, and dangerously sexy. She styled it with sparkly ankle-strap sandals and opted out of accessories (not even stud earrings!) to let her dress do the talkin’.

Though Kim’s formfitting ensemble may look modest from the front, with its long hemline and high neck, it gets pretty risqué when you check it out from behind, with its open-back design that nearly exposed her, uh, famous assets, if you know what I mean. We can hardly blame Kanye West for having his eyes firmly trained on his wife as they made their way down the red carpet together. Ahead, admire every single angle of Kim’s revealing dress and keep reading to shop similar styles for yourself if you’re in the market for a dazzling, Kardashian-approved New Year’s Eve getup.

Kanye West Stole an Earring Off the Versace Runway

Sometimes, accessories fall off of models on the runway. Occasionally, at the end of a show, the floor is littered with the detritus of looks—perhaps a shoe, maybe an earring. Less frequently, that earring will be stolen by Kanye West.

On Sunday, Versace showed its Pre-Fall 2019 show in Manhattan’s Financial District—the brand’s first-ever show in New York and first-ever pre-collection show. The models included Hailey Bieber-née-Baldwin—in her first post-marriage runway engagement—Gigi Hadid, Kaia Gerber, daughter of Cindy Crawford, and veteran Versace model (and general ’90s icon) Amber Valletta. The front row was no less impressive: There sat new parents Diane Kruger and Norman Reedus alongside Lupita Nyong’o, Paris Jackson, and noted Donatella fans Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in their first public appearance together in months.

At some point during the show, an earring dropped onto the runway and into the line of sight of Kardashian and West. Kardashian, documenting the show on her Instagram, also captured a truly incredible moment: Upon seeing the earring on the runway, West leaned down, plucked it from the ground, and pocketed it. “I’m about to steal this earring that just dropped,” he said to the camera. “They think they getting this back; we about to steal this.”

Perhaps his look was in need of a little Versace to make it more front-row appropriate. While Kardashian showed up in a silver chainmail dress—how very Kendall Jenner-via-Paris Hilton of her, because there's nothing the Kardashian family likes more than borrowing each other's looks—West arrived in Undercover Jun Takashi, Yeezy, and Van Cleef.

It’s unclear if West really did make off with the earring or if someone made him give it back. In a later video posted to the fan account @kimkardashiansnap, he can be seen leaning down as if to put it back on the runway, but when he sits up again, there doesn’t appear to be anything on the floor. Whatever the case, Donatella, if you’re missing an earring, we’ve found it.
