WWE Monday Night Raw: Braun Strowman OUT of Money in the Bank after Sami Zayn defeats him while Becky Lynch gets put through a table by Charlotte and Lacey Evans

WWE came to London’s O2 Arena last night with the best edition of Raw since WrestleMania.

And with the Money in the Bank PPV happening this Sunday, it was all to play for.

Here are five big talking points from Raw at the O2:

FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE

Sami Zayn went to Shane McMahon to complain about Braun Strowman stuffing him into a dumpster last week (a fair complaint).

Zayn said he wanted an opportunity to compete in the men’s MITB ladder match and offered to fight “The Monster” in a falls count anywhere match for his spot the ladder match.

Braun chased Sami backstage, but Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin got involved and gave Braun a savage beat-down.

Back on the stage area, they hit Braun with a double-suplex onto a ladder and Claymore Kick.

Drew and Baron then helped Sami cover Braun for the three count. So Sami is in the men’s MITB ladder match and Braun is out.

Braun got some revenge as the show closed when he choke-slammed poor Sami through the announce table.

ROMAN & MIZ

Thanks to the wild card rule, SmackDown superstar Roman Reigns appeared on Miz TV to talk about his upcoming match at MITB against Elias.

Roman gave props to Miz’s new babyface character and re-ran footage from last week of Miz battering Shane McMahon with a chair.

Shane then came out to remind the good guys that he’s still their boss. But it was all just a distraction to allow Elias and Bobby Lashley to jump Roman and Miz from behind.

Shane then booked an impromptu tag match between the four superstars.

The match was built around Miz getting cut off from Roman and trying to make the hot tag.

Just as Miz was about to finally about to tag Roman, Shane yanked “The Big Dog” off the apron and laid in some shots, which caused a DQ.

There was an outside brawl and Roman leapt over the ropes to take out the heels. Back in the ring, Miz walloped Elias and Lashley with a steel chair.

Who ever thought they’d see the day when Roman Reigns and The Miz would join forces?

DOUBLE TROUBLE FOR BECKY

This Sunday Becky Lynch competes in two matches, defending her Raw title against Lacey Evans and her SmackDown title against Charlotte Flair.

Last night she sat down for a double contract signing with both Lacey and Charlotte. It was the usual verbal slanging match.

Charlotte said Becky had bitten off more than she could chew by taking on two matches.

Becky fired back by saying it’s not that she doesn’t know how much of a beating she’ll have to take to keep her belts, she just doesn’t care.

It descended into a two-on-one punch-up after Lacey jumped “The Man”

Unfortunately for Becky, Charlotte was right about biting off more than she can chew.

The two challengers overpowered Becky and power-bombed her through the table.

Lacey and Charlotte then each grabbed a title and stood victorious over the broken and unconscious Becky.

YOWIE WOWIE

Bray Wyatt returned with another edition of the FireFly Fun House – but this time, things got seriously dark.

Bray told Mercy the Buzzard and Abby the Witch: “It’s almost time show the world what I’ve really been working on.”

He promised there’s still a lot of darkness “in this old noggin” and told everyone he’s learnt how to harness and control it. He asked: “Do you want to see my secret?”

The skit then flashed to a disturbing image of Bray dressed like a nightmarish clown.

Will this be the version of Bray we’ll eventually see compete in the ring? This character reinvention has become gripping stuff.

REY V CESARO

Rey Mysterio and Cesaro got into a brawl backstage when Cesaro took some cheap digs at Rey’s son Dominick and even questioned if Rey is the boy’s real father.

(There’s something WWE hasn’t got bored of insinuating over the last 14 years).

Rey and Cesaro then had a killer match, which was all about Rey’s high flying skills versus Cesaro’s raw power.

Cesaro swung Rey into the barricade and performed an impressive one-armed super-plex from the top rope.

The Swiss Cyborg also attempted a version of the 619 on Rey, but the masked superstar ducked it and hit his own 619 and a frog splash to get the win.

In other notable action, Nikki Cross took Alexa Bliss’s place in a fatal 4-way match against MITB competitors Dana Brooke, Natalya, and Naomi. Nikki scored the win to a decent reaction from the London crowd.

Nikki and Alexa have formed a sort of friendship, as seen when Nikki allowed Alexa to pose with the MITB briefcase afterwards.

Is it a sign of things to come when Alexa competes in the women’s ladder match this Sunday?
