Simmons, 26, signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He spent time with four different NFL teams including the San Diego Chargers, New York Giants, and Arizona Cardinals. He appeared in a total of 11 pre-season games from 2016-2018.

Thompson, 25, was drafted in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the New York Giants after four seasons with the Texas Longhorns. He only appeared in one pre-season game with the Giants in the 2015 season.

Thompson also played one regular season game in 2016 with New York where he recorded one assisted tackle before injuring his knee. He was released by the Giants in 2017 and was soon signed to the New Orleans Saints practice squad. The Saints waived Thompson in May of 2018.

The Bombers’ secondary should look a whole lot different in 2019. Starting cornerback Chris Randle was already released, while Taylor Loffler, Brandon Alexander, Kevin Fogg, and Brendan Morgan are set to become free agents in less than two weeks. DB’s Anthony Gaitor, Chandler Fenner, Marcus Sayles, and Tyneil Cooper are already locked up for next season.
