Who is Australian Open star Karolina Pliskova and when did she marry her agent Michal Hrdlicka?

But she has yet to find similar success in the senior game – here is all you need to know.

Who is Karolina Pliskova?

The Czech Republic star was born March 21, 1992 in Louny – that makes her 26-years-old.

She found early success in the junior ranks, beating Great Britain's Laura Robson to win the Australian Open in 2010, before stepping up to senior Grand Slam tournaments two years later at Roland Garros.

Since then, she has won 11 WTA titles, including the Stuttgart Open and Pan Pacific Open earlier this year.

Pliskova is currently ranked fifth in the world, but was number one last year, spending eight weeks at the top.

Yet, the Czech has not won a Grand Slam title, with her only final coming at the US Open in 2016.

When did she marry her agent Michal Hrdlicka?

Pliskova married her boyfriend Hrdlicka on July 19, 2018 in a small wedding in Monte Carlo where they live.

The couple had been dating for three years before saying their vows, with fellow Czech Hrdlicka also doubling up as the tennis star's agent.

Hrdlicka, 29, was initially a Czech TV presenter, working alongside Lucie Borhyove, whom he had a three-year relationship with and the pair share a daughter, Linda, aged 4.
