RACING POINT is the latest name on the lips of F1 fans, who are excited to see a different team on the starting grid.

Revealed to be the latest addition to the Grand Prix circuit, they're are the new kids on the block hoping to make a splash in a big way.

Who are Racing Point?

Racing Point first burst onto the scene in 2018 when it was announced they would be part of a new chapter in F1 history.

Powered by Mercedes, team boss Otmar Szafnauer hopes his team can reach fourth place by the end of the season.

It's an ambitious task but a fresh young, line up of drivers could be exactly what this team needs to succeed.

Their owner – Lawrence Stroll – is a Canadian billionaire who made his money by investing in the expansion of fashion brands such as Pierre Cardin, Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger.

Racing Point has partnered together two drivers who they hope will make all the difference in the new season.

Who are their drivers?

Sergio Perez – no stranger to the team, he joined back in 2014 after stints with both Sauber and McLaren.

Recently, frequent clashes with former teammate Esteban Ocon overshadowed some decent performances. Accidentally forcing Ocon into a wall in Singapore springs to mind.

His partner Lance Stroll is a 20-year-old novice who became the youngest rookie driver to climb onto the podium in 2017.

Stroll will look to improve on last year's 18th place but there is no accounting for the potential for internal politics between the two drivers.

He's also the son of owner Lawrence Stroll which many have speculated could be the cause of future disputes between the two men. Father Lawrence will be quick to quash these murmurs but when things get competitive on the track who knows what drama will unfold.

Which team have they replaced in F1?

Racing Point took over the team formerly known as Force India.

Despite being dubbed the 'best pound-for-pound team' in F1, Force India struggled to keep up financially before being forced into administration.
Lance Stroll's takeover is the newest chapter for this team who look to put the pressure on the likes of Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull.
