Tottenham hero Son beats Cristiano Ronaldo in Fifa 20 cover star poll after stunning Man City display

FIFA players want to see Spurs superstar Heung-min Son on the new Fifa cover over Cristiano Ronaldo.

A poll created by FIFPlay asked fellow players which famous face they wanted to launch the upcoming game.

On a star-studded list that included the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Mohamed Salah, it was the South Korean who narrowly came out on top.

Both he and Ronaldo took the majority 17 per cent of the votes but Son narrowly edged it.

Just under 204,000 people voted for the Tottenham winger compared to 202,691 for the Juventus superstar.

Messi was third most popular while Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was way off the running with under 35,000 votes.

Surprisingly Kylian Mbappe took just one per cent of the votes.

Son's popularity has soared since his double at the Etihad fired Spurs into the last four of the Champions League and knocked out Manchester City.

He has now bagged 20 goals in all competitions to become one of the first names on the team-sheet under Mauricio Pochettino.

It doesn't mean Son will be on the cover of Fifa 20 but it has certainly provided EA Sports with food for thought.
