Solskjaer confirms Molde contract has been torn up as Man Utd stars arrive for training after PSG heroics

The Norwegian boss, 46, now looks certain to join the Old Trafford ranks as permanent manager after his deal to return to Molde was cancelled.

Man Utd's stars were given the day off yesterday after their heroics in Paris, but were today spotted driving into Carrington.

But it was all eyes on Solskjaer, who revealed the reason for his Molde contract hitting the shredder.

On it's termination, the Norwegian said: "I am not here to get excited, I am here to do my job.

"You cannot have two contracts when you're a manager, so that contract was terminated. I am contracted to Manchester United until the end of June.

"I love managing these boys. I love working here. I am just doing the best I can every single day.

"If and when a decision is to be made we will have to think about that.

"Everyone likes to get complimented but doesn't change my approach. I am good at focusing on what I should be focusing on."

After being praised for bringing joy back to Old Trafford – amongst both players and fans – Solskjaer revealed he believes he is just doing his job.

The caretaker chief claimed: "I don't know any other way to approach things. You have to look at opportunities. I have always been that way.

"The glass is half full not half empty. When I smashed my cheekbone [as a youngster] I started a diary of what opportunities it gave me – loads of fitness work, finishing work.

"That has always been with me."

Penalty-hero Marcus Rashford was just one star driving into the Aon Training Complex today, along with two-goal star Romelu Lukaku, David De Gea and Jesse Lingard.

United take on Arsenal this weekend in a crucial clash in the race for a top-four spot.
