Senior Chelsea stars 'keen to quit this summer if Sarri remains in charge' as Allegri joins Lampard on shortlist for new boss

CHELSEA are facing a mass exodus if Maurizio Sarri stays, according to reports.

The Blues boss has not been a popular figure in the dressing room or among fans since arriving from Napoli last summer.

And as Max Allegri joins Frank Lampard in the frame, the Evening Standard reports that senior players will ask to leave if the Italian keeps his job.

Sarri is keen to learn his fate, with Juventus looking into his availability after parting ways with Max Allegri.

And the compatriots could end up swapping over after the former Old Lady chief confirmed he does not intend to have a break from football.

Allegri, who won the Italian Double four times as Juve boss, said: "I am not particularly looking for a year off. I’ll only take a sabbatical if I have to, but otherwise the idea is to find a project that convinces me.

"Life is full of surprises and you have to be ready for anything.

"I train with joy and fun, because if I am not convinced by the squad at my disposal, I try changing things around, moving players into new positions and finding something different, otherwise I get bored."

Allegri has already begun learning English and brings a wealth of experience and success to the table.

Blues legend Lampard would be a hugely popular choice with fans but has just one season under his belt as a boss.

He has, however, led Derby to the brink of the Premier League as he prepares to take on Aston Villa in the play-off final.
