Samuel L. Jackson goes off script at Oscars to tell Spike Lee the Knicks won

The Oscars is where you mostly hear stuff about movies, because, well, it's an awards show for movies, so that makes sense.

It's not normally a place where New York Knicks scores are announced but that's exactly what happened during Sunday night's broadcast when Samuel L. Jackson went off script to tell Spike Lee some good news.

You see, the Knicks have been terrible at home this year, losing 18 straight at Madison Square Garden. But that streak came to end Sunday night when they beat the San Antonio Spurs, and Jackson was able to give Spike Lee, who loves the Knicks, the update.

Spike had the best reply.

Jackson then gave Lee the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. Twitter had some fun with it.

Funny, but Spike Lee knows that the Knicks beating the Spurs isn't anything but screwing up their shot at Zion. #TankNewYorkTankNewYorkTank
