Reigns returning to give cancer update on Raw and GM America, confirms McMahon

The Big Dog, 33, shocked the world in October when he announced live on Monday Night Raw he was relinquishing the Universal Title after being diagnosed with the deadly disease for a second time.

But WWE owner Vince McMahon has surprisingly announced the star will be returning to the company's flagship show next week.

The billionaire tweeted: "@WWERomanReigns (aka Joe Anoa'i) will address the status of his fight with leukemia this Monday on Raw. #fighter #proud #classy."

And wrestling fans will be able to get a double dose of the "The Guy" with the star due to appear on Good Morning America on Tuesday live from Times Square.

Reigns, real name Joe Anoa’I, has not appeared on WWE TV since the stunning announcement but has made several public appearances.

Fans have been buoyed to see the four-time champ attend a football game and pose for a selfie with a copper before being snapped with a fan in the gym while on holiday in Hawaii last month.

During that trip he also spent time with former world boxing heavyweight champion Joseph Parker while continuing his road to recovery.

Website Wrestling News reported earlier that McMahon was ready to bring Reigns back in time to compete at WrestleMania 35.

And they claim WWE are dropping a number of hints Reigns’ long-awaited comeback will come at the Showcase of the Immortals on April 7.

Reigns, who formed The Shield with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, watched on from home as the trio’s famous triple-powerbomb was borrowed by Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin and Sunday’s Elimination Chamber.

And the reports state WWE owner Vince McMahon instructed commentators to specifically mention The Shield while it was being executed.

Another sign they believe Ambrose’s apparent turn from heel to face is another sign of Reigns’ return.

And they claim the above two could join forces with Braun Strowman to fight Corbin, McIntyre and Lashley at ‘Mania.

Rollins is also going to be action at WrestleMania as he battles Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title after winning the Royal Rumble.

Ambrose is set to leave WWE following the event after turning down a contract extension.
