Real Madrid join Man City in race for Colombia and River Plate ace Quintero

The playmaker shined for Colombia during last summer’s tournament in Russia.

And he also caught the eye in the Copa Libertadores final after netting for winners River Plate against Boca Juniors.

Quintero, 25, has already spent four years in Europe, having played for Pescara, Porto and Rennes.

But he could be heading back to the continent despite making his River Plate loan from Porto permanent for just £2.8million.

Spanish newspaper AS claims Real are keen on bringing Quintero to La Liga.

Isco has been tipped to leave the Bernabeu this summer, and it means Real would need a new No 10.

However, Man City are also interested, and Quintero confirmed Pep Guardiola’s interest last month.

He said: “My agent has had a meeting with Man City, which makes me very proud.

“But if I’m to return to Europe, it has to be for the benefit of all, not just a financial thing.”
