Raging Novak Djokovic throws racket into crowd and smashes another in huge on-court meltdown at Monte Carlo Masters

RAGING Novak Djokovic flung one racket into the crowd and smashed another during a huge on-court meltdown at the Monte Carlo Masters.

The world No 1 could not contain his anger after being broken by Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber.

Djokovic, who won this year's Australian Open, obliterated the frame of his racket after hammering it into the clay three times.

And then he flung a new one into the crowd later on in the match after being unable to reach a shot.

Djokovic was booed by fans when he broke his Head racket during the first outburst of anger.

He was leading by a set and serving at 2-3 when forced to save two break points.

But on the third break chance for Kohlschreiber, the Serbian put his backhand volley wide to gift the break to his opponent.

It was then that Djokovic saw red, prompting Amazon Prime commentator Mark Petchley to say: "When he does break it, he breaks it with venom and passion."

And one Twitter user wrote: "Djokovic showing what a nasty piece of work he can be with that racket break."

Djokovic was lucky to avoid a point penalty for flinging his racket into fans.

The four-time Wimbledon champ's latest display of anger was similar to his outburst at Indian Wells last month.

Then, Djokovic launched his racket at the back fence so hard that it left a hole in it.
