Petr Cech to become Chelsea sporting director after finishing season with Arsenal

PETR CECH will return to Chelsea this summer as the club's new sporting director, according to reports.

The 37-year-old, who spent 11 years between the sticks at Stamford Bridge, will end his 20 year playing career with Arsenal this season.

According to Sky Sports News, Cech will continue his career with his former club next season.

The goalkeeper looks set to come up against the Blues one final time before he makes the switch this summer.

Arsenal face Maurizio Sarri's men in the Europa League final in Baku on Wednesday 29 May.

Cech has started ten of Arsenal's 14 games in the competition, but Unai Emery has not confirmed whether he will start the match.

The Gunners boss said: "All is positive. I have only known him this year.

"His experience is vast in football, he is here because he has done [great] service.

"His commitment is large. I want to enjoy with him. I am a privileged coach to be with him. We are going to do all we can to win.

"I believe in him, I can use him or I can use Leno but above all, I want to enjoy special moments with players."

Arsenal fans would have wanted Cech between the sticks as he boasts an incredible trophy-winning record against his former side.

However upon finding out their keeper could be making a swift return to Stamford Bridge after the Baku final, many supporters demanded Emery axe him from his squad.

Cech won 13 trophies during his 11 year spell with Chelsea, including four Premier League titles and the Champions League.

He left the Blues to join the Gunners in 2015 in a £10million deal, but will hang up his gloves after the final.
