Marcus Rashford still in talks over new £150k-a-week Man Utd contract with Real Madrid preparing to pounce

The striker’s deadly form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has led to a host of Europe’s big guns, led by Real Madrid, plotting huge swoops for the 21-year-old.

SunSport reported last month the England international’s £75,000-a-week wages were set to be doubled.

And The Telegraph have backed up the claim with a similar report today.

It states Rashford would pocket £150,000-a-week plus a number of bonuses in the new contract being offered.

The star has been instrumental in the dramatic upturn in form since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer arrived as caretaker boss to replace Jose Mourinho in January.

He has six goals in ten matches with the Norwegian yet to suffer defeat in charge.

United tied down Anthony Martial to a new five-year deal last week and now want their home-grown hero to follow suit with club chiefs believing the duo can be form a deadly-attack for years to come.

United have an option to extend Rashford’s current contract, which only has 18 months remaining, by a further 12 months but negotiations over a longer-term package are well under way.

The club would prefer to get a new deal agreed with the England star rather than imposing a mandatory extension as they have done with David De Gea.

Rashford is also believed to see his future at Old Trafford after hitting top gear under Solskjaer, keeping £75m strike rival Romelu Lukaku on the bench.
