Man Utd to give Solskjaer huge six-figure bonus if he leads resurgent Red Devils into Champions League this season

The Red Devils legend has had an incredible start to his reign as interim boss, winning all eight of his first matches in charge.

The stunning record including a thumping 1-3 win at Arsenal last Friday in the FA Cup and a battling 0-1 at Tottenham earlier this month.

He has managed to get United back into the hunt for a top four finish in the Premier League, which ex-chief Jose Mourinho was almost certain to fail to achieve.

And Solskjaer will be handed a six-figure sum for his efforts if he manages to complete the turnaround and keep them among Europe's elite.

The 45-year-old will likely be handed the full-time job as well, despite the club's board being keen on Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino.

An Old Trafford source said: “Ole has done a brilliant job so far and everyone at the club has been delighted with him.

“He's going to land himself a nice bonus if he continues the way he's going. Him and the whole squad will get something for getting in the top four.

“There's so much money involved in the competition these days that it would be stupid not to give that incentive out to everyone.”

It is understood Solskjaer is on around £50,000-a-week, but his wage is boosted by a number of add-on clauses.

United would pocket around £60m for getting into the Champions League spots, and each member of the squad would bag £250,000 for reaching it.

And it is thought the Red Devils players would get around £85,000 for winning the FA Cup, with  Solskjaer netting a similar amount.
