Man Utd fans rejoice as Ashley Young is dropped from team to face Everton

MANCHESTER UNITED fans rejoiced as Ashley Young was finally dropped by Ole Gunnar Solksjaer from his team to face Everton.

The 33-year-old was slated for his disastrous display during the Champions League defeat to Barcelona on Wednesday.

Young was slated by United fans for wasting possession continuously during the Red Devils European exit during the midweek defeat to the La Liga giants.

The ex-Aston Villa ace gave the ball away 30 times against Lionel Messi and co – meaning he lost possession once every three minutes on average.

And he failed to complete a single cross from 11 attempts down the right wing.

Diogo Dalot has now come in as left-back as part of three changes from the side at the Nou Camp, with Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku also coming in.

'HAPPY EASTER'

The news saw many United fans jump for joy at the news with one supporter tweeting: "Ashley Young being dropped shows that Ole is not going to accept mediocrity."

Another wrote: "Ashley Young on the bench. Hope Solskjaer leaves him there for the rest of the season"

Fan account Devils of United posted: "Tears in my eyes. Ashley Young is on the bench. Ole deserves a new contract just for that decision."
