Man Utd fans fear giving job to ‘numpty’ Solskjaer was terrible mistake with team losing four out of five with Pogba back to his old self
MANCHESTER UNITED fans are concerned the club have made a terrible mistake by giving Ole Gunnar Solskajer the job.
The Reds have crashed to four defeats in five matches to bring the Norwegian's honeymoon period to an abrupt end as Paul Pogba continues to cause a stir.
Last month's 2-0 defeat to Arsenal ended United's unbeaten run under Solskjaer and dented their hopes of finishing in the top four.
Wolves then knocked them out of the FA Cup before beating them again in the Premier League.
And their hopes of lifting the Champions League are all-but over after last night's defeat to Barcelona in the first leg.
Following the lacklustre display – which saw them fail to register a shot on target in the competition for the first time since 2005 – some fans have turned against the new boss.
One Twitter user said: "Four defeats in the last five games lol. Solskjaer will be a goner in January. Love him to bits, but he's clearly not good enough.
"Screaming 'WE ARE MAN UNITED' at players and having United DNA doesn't work in the long run."
Another added: "Man U have lost four out of their last five games and were lucky to beat Watford at home in that run. Their board were a tad hasty in giving Solskjaer the job permanently."
Retired Scotland international Andy Gray said: "I don't think he has done enough to say emphatically, 'It's yours!' I think they've run out of options."
And fans have been left questioning Paul Pogba – who appeared to find a new lease of life under Solskjaer after a number of bust-ups with Mourinho.
He scored eight goals and made five assists in his first ten games under the new boss, but has managed just one goal and two assists in the last ten.
Pogba was rated as the worst player on the pitch by French newspaper L'Equipe after the Champions League defeat to Barcelona.
Fans are convinced he is returning to his old ways amid claims he has fallen out with the new Old Trafford boss.
One Twitter user sarcastically said: "Looks like another manager has failed to get the best out of Paul Pogba and now needs the sack."
