Man Utd closing in on goal machine Erling Haaland as dad Alf ‘visits Carrington training complex’ amid transfer rumours – The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED are a step closer to signing goal hero Erling Haaland after his dad reportedly visited United's training ground.

The RB Salzburg man has been linked with a number of European juggernauts so far this season after his staggering goalscoring exploits for the Austrian club.

But according to the Athletic, United could be leading the chase after the 19-year-old's dad – ex Leeds man Alf Inge Haaland – visited the club's Carrington training complex.

Reporter David Ornstein said: "I've been told by one source that his father has visited and been seen at United's training ground."

Haaland has bagged FIVE hat-tricks this season, including one in the Champions League and has 26 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions.

Last week Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly told United's hierarchy to go all out to sign the whizkid who has an £85million price tag on his head.

It was claimed in Solskjaer's native Norway the Old Trafford boss is now ready to force through a move after signalling to chiefs how much he is ready to pay.

Haaland, who played under Solskjaer at Molde, has the Champions League theme tune as his morning alarm after becoming top scorer in the competition with seven goals.

And as recently as Saturday, reports surfaced that United were willing to let the 6ft 4ins giant go back on loan to RB Salzburg for the rest of the season if they signed him in January.

The teenager – who was born in Leeds – is under contract in Austria until 2023 after joining at the beginning of this year for £4.5m.

But United want to move quickly to prevent a major bidding war if his future is not decided by the summer with the likes of Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid all thought to be after his signature.
