Luka Jovic signs new Eintracht Frankfurt deal in transfer blow for Prem giants Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd

SEVERAL Premier League clubs have been dealt a blow after Frankfurt starlet Luka Jovic penned a four-year deal with the German club.

The Bundesliga outfit confirmed they have completed the permanent £6million signing of the previously on-loan hot-shot from Benfica today.

And that ends the hopes of Arsenal, Manchester United, City, and Chelsea of landing the 21-year-old striker this summer.

Jovic has attracted a host of interest from Europe’s elite with his goalscoring exploits this campaign.

He has bagged 25 goals and produced six assists in his 40 appearances for Frankfurt.

That led to huge speculation the Serbian could be set for a bumper move at the end of the season.

But Frankfurt have moved quickly to exercise the clause in their loan agreement with Benfica to secure his services permanently.

However, that might not be enough to stop the continent’s big guns from circling.

Although it will mean a huge profit for Frankfurt if they decide to sell, with some reports claiming interested parties are preparing to pay up to £50m for him.

Club director Fredi Bobic said: “Luka's development is very pleasing for us and it was never in question as to whether we wanted to tie him to the club.

“He is a player with extraordinary abilities.

“It is important to us that we have bound him to our club.”

Jovic arrived at Frankfurt aged 19 two years ago.

He finished with eight goals in 22 top-flight games during his maiden campaign.

But he has fulfilled that promise shown by announcing himself to the whole of Europe with his finishing abilities over the seven months.
