Liverpool did NOT include recall option in Clyne loan as Klopp facing growing injury list

Jurgen Klopp is fearing a growing injury list can derail his team's Premier League title challenge with three defenders on the sidelines.

Clyne had played only 108 minutes for Liverpool in the Premier League this season before completing his move to Bournemouth in January.

But the 27-year-old defender would now be a huge help for Klopp, who has to cope with a lack of defensive options as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez are out with injuries.

Six players in total are sidelined at Anfield with Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Georginio Wijnaldum potentially all unavailable for Saturday's clash against the Cherries.

However, the Daily Mail report the Reds did not include a recall option in Clyne's loan deal to Bournemouth meaning there is no possibility the German coach can summon his player back.

Klopp has been forced to experiment with his back line and tried to accommodate Jordan Henderson and James Milner in the right-back position in order to boost the club's title hopes.

But his side's defensive woes continue as Alisson has conceded eight goals from the last 12 shots he has faced.

The Reds have kept only one clean sheet in their last six league matches, and conceded three goals against Crystal Palace two weeks ago.

And Liverpool's lead has been cut down to just three points following a couple of 1-1 draws to West Ham and Leicester.

In addition, Klopp faces a potential touchline ban after blasting referee Kevin Friend as "arrogant" at West Ham on Monday night.

On a positive note, Clyne will not be able to face the Reds on Saturday as he is ineligible to play as a loanee against his parent club.
