Horse racing tips: Queen Mother's Cup trends – we help you find the winner of the York race live on ITV this Saturday

1.50 YORK: Queen Mother’s Cup

HERE Wee go at York! MAKAWEE ticks more trends boxes than any other runner in the Queen Mother’s Cup.

A recent run on the level has been important in this race for female amateur riders. That spells bad news for Mister Manduro, Archi’s Affaire and Promise Of Peace.

Only one of the past 10 winners was lower than 80 in the official ratings, which means we can cross out French Mix, Where’s Jeff, Sootability and Tapis Libre.

Just one three-year-old has managed to take this handicap which means Arctic Fox, Billy No Mates and Café Espresso have that stat to overcome.

Apterix is older than the average winner at the age of nine and is also overlooked although it’s worth noting that he did win this race in 2015.

A previous victory over the 1m4f distance or further has been important, which spells bad news for Mutamaded and Breath Caught who have both shown their best form over shorter distances.

That leaves us with a shootout between MAKAWEE and Multellie. Looking at recent form, you would have to go with the former as she was a good winner at Wetherby last time out and looks capable of improvement.

But a small each-way saver on Multellie might be a good idea given that his trainer Tim Easterby has won this race three times in the past decade.
