Formula E: Felipe Massa expects the electric racing championship to be more exciting than Formula 1

The Brazilian has returned to racing with the all-electric series after retiring from F1 just over a year ago.

The former Ferrari and Williams driver is hoping he can benefit from how unpredictable the championship is.

As Formula E enters season five with the brand new Gen2 car, new teams and drivers, no one knows who will come out on top in the opening race in Saudi Arabia.

Which is a stark contrast to F1, which has been dominated by Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel for the last EIGHT years, with exception to Nico Rosberg's title-winning season in 2016.
Massa said: "I think what makes things interesting in Formula E, and I really hope it happens with me, is that many drivers are able to win the race.
He added: "Maybe many drivers can win the championship."

The 37-year-old will race for Venturi after announcing he would join the Monaco-based time last season.

Venturi are part owned by Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, with former Williams test driver Susie Wolff as his team principle.

Massa who spent 14 years in F1 envisions himself extending his career for years to come with Formula E.

Formula E Saudi Arabia E-Prix What time is the race and where can I watch it?

He said: “It is a championship I can race not only for one year and that's it," he said.

"I can maybe race for a few years and still enjoy my career until I really decide to stop. I want to keep having fun like I have done all my life."
