Aubameyang's stunning double sees Arsenal hitman share Golden Boot with Salah and Mane

MOHAMED SALAH had to share the Golden Boot after a late surge from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sadio Mane.

Arsenal's Aubameyang and Liverpool's Mane struck twice on the final day of the season to draw level with Salah on 22 goals for the season.

The Egyptian King, 26, was out on his own last year with a stunning 32 goals – but his title despair was made worse by sharing the scoring award.

Gabon striker Aubameyang hit a double at Turf Moor in Gunners' 3-1 win over Burnley.

It was his seventh goal in his last four games in all competitions, with the forward helping Arsenal to the Europa League final.

Mane scored both goals for Jurgen Klopp's side at Anfield as they beat Wolves and finished on a monumental 97 points.

The trio's tally of 22 apiece is, however, the lowest number to claim the gong since 2011.

That year it was shared between Man Utd's Dimitar Berbatov and Man City's Carlos Tevez, who scored 20.

It was the last time the coveted boot was shared too.

Salah's goal-scoring is formidable, though. After a barren March, the forward hit five goals in as many league games to keep Liverpool at pace with City.

And in April the 2018 Player of the Year struck his 50th Premier League goal which helped the Reds beat Crystal Palace.

Salah was the fourth-fastest player to reach the 50-goal mark, behind Andy Cole, Alan Shearer and Ruud van Nistelrooy.

He was faster than Fernando Torres, Sergio Aguero and Thierry Henry.
