11 ways Conor McGregor could spend retirement from whiskey and clothing to becoming tech tycoon or house husband

CONOR McGREGOR has shocked the MMA world by announcing he has hung up his gloves in order to focus on a "new adventure".

But how exactly will the Notorious savour the sweet joy of retirement?

McGregor, 30, is a money-making phenomenon, with his involvements ranging from clothing collaborations to releasing his very own emoji app.

Forbes have estimated the Irishman's net worth at £75million, making him the 12th highest-paid entertainer on the planet.

But what will the Notorious do with all the free time he will now have after calling time on his MMA career?

SunSport has come up with 11 ideas for McGregor in his future endavours.

CLOTHING COLLABORATIONS

Eventually, every major sports star ends up in the clothing industry.

But McGregor, in fact, has long been setting new fashion trends – and his Instagram account is filled with commercial posts boasting £400k watches or attires worth more than an average UK salary.

His polar bear skin coat idea might not necessarily kick off – considering the animal-rights lobby – but the "f**k off suit" made by David August, the custom clothier he collaborates with, was a hit.

You can even buy one for £5,000 a pop.

Could "b******s to Brexit" underwear be the next million-dollar idea?

WHISKEY BRAND

The official website of No12 whiskey proudly says: "From a proper Irishman."

McGregor worked with former Guinness distiller David Elder to launch his own label last year, with a bottle costing up to £30.

It is described as "an ultra-smooth blend of golden grain and single malt" and a six-month supply sold out just ten days after it got on the store shelves in September.

Some Irish supermarkets reportedly had to ration their customers to two bottles per purchase.

PROMOTER FOR MMA STARS

The McGregor Sports and Entertainment company was among partners named on promotion posters ahead of the Notorious' blockbuster fight with Floyd Mayweather.

It was established in 2014 to exploit the Irishman's earning potential, but accumulated losses of £300,000 in December last year.

Lots of room for improvement.

McGregor could follow suit of boxing pals David Haye and Oscar De La Hoya and find other fighters to join his stable to make it more profitable.

PLUMBING

As we know, it has not always been gold and roses for McGregor.

Growing up in Crumlin, a suburb of Dublin, he took up plumbing in order to make do while training at a local boxing club.

McGregor would do a 12-hour shift and hit the gym straight after – and he hated every single bit of it.

But perhaps now, when he does not need to rely on any job financially, he could go back to his roots to do some plumbing as a hobby?

NIGHT CLUB OWNER

Before the Mayweather fight, the Irishman signed a two-year deal with Wynn Las Vegas to host all his post-fight parties there.

McGregor was obliged to throw four parties at XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club until 2019.

However, his last bash, following the loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, was cancelled due to the melee that broke out between the pair's camps.

It's time to hit the decks, Conor. You have all the time in the world now.

TECH TYCOON

For a mere £1.99 you can purchase an app, allowing you to send a text to your mate with an emoji of McGregor's face or his infamous slogans.

MacMoji, MacTalk and the MacLife website prove the Irishman could take the tech industry by storm.

With augmented and virtual reality making strides in the field, the Notorious has countless options to come up with a game-changer on the market.

Real-time trash-talk battles with a hologram of McGregor are just a step away.

INFLUENCER

McGregor boasts a stunning 30.6m followers on Instagram.

His whiskey brand became the most followed label on social media shortly after it was launched – just because it was associated with his name.

The Notorious' star status has an incredible earning potential, with his social media posts worth thousands.

So why sweat it out if simply sitting on your couch, bashing out a few words and adding in a couple of hashtags will do to earn some big-bucks?

Leading the charge for the St. Patrick’s day Parade here in the great city of Chicago! Thank you to my friends Jim and Michelle and the entire plumbers unions, and also the City’s Mayor, Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Thank you so much for the hospitality! What a city! What a parade! What an honour!! I am one proud Irishman today, and everyday, thank you all so much! Slainte ☘️

HOUSE HUSBAND

During his ban, McGregor showed he is a loving daddy as well as husband to his long-term partner Dee Devlin, 31.

The Irishman took his family for a trip across America earlier this year, with the McGregors checking in at the Super Bowl in February before hitting a Miami beach.

The couple have just welcomed their second child, daughter Croia.

McGregor therefore will now have to step up and devote even more time to fatherhood.

ACTING

McGregor has already made his acting debut – a very unlikely one.

In partnership with the Pegasus World Cup he played the next star of horse racing in the "13th Jockey", vowing to become "the pound-for-pound No1 jockey on the planet".

It is more than certain that Hollywood producers will be flooding McGregor's agent with availability request, hoping to exploit his star image on the big screen.

McGregor surely is a man of many talents, but perhaps his next roles could be more believable than an aspiring horse rider.

WWE

McGregor is MMA's very own Hulk Hogan – and once the time comes he will surely be looking for a new territory to conquer.

He has just retired in time for Wrestlemania 35, taking place in New Jersey on April 7 – could the Irishman follow in the footsteps of Rounda Rousey and take on the WWE?

To muddy the waters even further, McGregor signed off his retirement message calling on his pals to have some Pina Coladas on him.

Rowdy, the RAW women's champion, replied: "Second round is on me."

MAN UTD AMBASSADOR

McGregor grew up as a Red Devils fan – although he did not frequent Old Trafford, explaining he was "more a player than a watcher".

But he did buy the infamous grey United shirt from his First Holy Communion money at the age of eight.

He has just recently called on the Old Trafford board to hand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the job permanently.

Perhaps McGregor will find some time to join Dwight Yorke, Bryan Robson and Andy Cole, among others, in promoting the United brand worldwide.

I see my son when I look at this. Thank you for sharing.
This is a picture from my schools “sports day”, and that infamous Grey Utd jersey, I actually bought myself with my communion money at 8 years of age.
I’d love to know where it is now.
A truly Notorious football jersey! https://t.co/1NxLZYJMXt
