Woman, 28, who thought she would be scarred for life after suffering second degree burns when her pressure cooker exploded, has been ‘healed’ in just a MONTH after using an $10 cream

  • Ashley Short, 28, from Missouri was left in immense pain after accident
  • Doctor told her damage was so severe it was verging on third degree burns
  • She used the bargain cream after it was recommended to her by a colleague

A woman who thought she would be scarred for life after suffering horrific burns when her pressure cooker exploded has seen her skin completely heal after using an $10 (£8) cream.

Ashley Short, 28, from Missouri, always had problems opening the kitchen appliance, but when it suddenly blew up in flames, she was left with shocking second degree burns – and an immense amount of pain.

She was told by her doctor that the damage to her skin was so severe it was on the verge of third degree burns in some areas.

But after using Australian brand MooGoo’s Skin Milk Udder Cream, which is sold in both the US and UK, that was recommended by a colleague, her scarring has disappeared completely.

She said: ‘When I looked on the MooGoo website, I didn’t see anything that was specifically for burns but I did find the oncology pack saying it was good for people going through chemo and radiation.

‘I decided to give it a try and I am so thankful I did! I actually couldn’t believe it!’

After using $10.20 (£8) MooGoo Skin Milk Udder Cream that was recommended to her by a colleague, Ashley is scar-free

The $10.20 (£8) MooGoo Skin Milk Udder Balm, which is available from pharmacies and Whole Foods Market, is commonly used to treat skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

Speaking of the devastating day the accident took place, Ashley, who luckily had her boyfriend by her side at the time of the frightening explosion, explained: ‘The cooker was always hard to open, and this time the pressure wasn’t quite off when the lid loosened so it shot up and my dinner of chicken and dumplings went everywhere.’

‘A lot of it landed on my right hand and forearm – at times the pain was almost unbearable.

This $10 (£8) milk udder cream, which is available from pharmacies and Whole Food markets, healed Ashley in just over a month

‘I slept with ice packs on my arm all night and used an Aloe Vera plant on it before bed.

‘I got up the next morning and went to work, going to the doctor later that day where she applied some cream and I was instructed to use the cream and keep it covered.

‘I followed up with the doctor three different times to keep an eye on it due to the severity of the burn.’

Ashley’s doctor warned her to expect some scarring due to the severity of the burn, but when she started using MooGoo Skin Milk UdderCream, which was recommended to her by a colleague, those concerns quickly vanished.

After using the MooGoo Milk Udder Cream, her pain and scarring lessened with incredible speed, taking just over a month.

‘My friends and family are so amazed at how wonderful my arm looks,’ said Ashley.

‘I work in an office at a physical therapy clinic and most of the patients ask how I’m doing so they have all heard my success story with the products as well.’

‘Most of them, like myself, thought there was no way I would get out of this without having some scars so thanks to my work colleague who first introduced me to this awesome product.

‘I am now going to make a full recovery without any scarring left behind. Aside from a lighter colour due to losing my tan it is difficult to tell I ever had a burn.’

Founder Craig Jones created MooGoo in his kitchen 13 years ago after seeing his mother use a cow ‘udder cream’ to treat her psoriasis.

‘Our products are made with all natural, all edible ingredients,’ he explained. ‘This means that customers with particularly sensitive skin generally have less trouble using our products than they do other brands.’

‘We also know that our products have helped so many people going through chemotherapy and radiation because some patients suffer from dry, red, irritated and sensitive skin, which can be uncomfortable and painful.

‘We created an Oncology Care Pack to help patients hydrate, protect, soothe and care for their skin during and after treatment.’

THE MAN BEHIND THE MIRACLE MOOGOO PRODUCTS

Craig Jones hit upon his lightning-bolt idea when his mother started using a balm that is sometimes applied to cows’ udders if they are chafed from milking.

What if the former RAAF pilot could take the ‘thick, pasty cream’ his mother was using for her psoriasis and turn it into a marketable product for men, women and children with eczema and skin problems?

According to Craig, from New South Wales, when his mum started using udder balm to relieve her psoriasis, he knew there was something in the idea:

Former pilot, Craig Jones (pictured), came up with his idea when his mother was struggling with psoriasis and started using udder cream for cows to help her skin

‘It was super thick and pasty, so I took a tub home and learned how to make it so that it absorbed much more quickly,’ he told FEMAIL.

‘Before we even started selling it, I began calling the brand ‘Moogoo’ and dubbed the lotion ‘Udder Cream’. It sounded a bit crass to my mother, but friends would drop by and take some home in their own little jars.

‘Eventually, I realised I was spending a lot of time making the product and so I quit my day job as a pilot in the RAAF.’

Today, Craig’s skin products – including creams for eczema, shampoos for people with scalp problems and natural deodorants – retail in 2,500 pharmacies around the world, and countless different countries.

Turnover is estimated at $20 million, and an eczema cream sells every two minutes.
