Shoppers are going wild for an 87p liquid talc from Asda after a woman claimed on Facebook that it prevents chafing in hot weather.

Paula Deegan, from Scotland, hailed the product – which was developed for babies – as a must-have to stop uncomfortable thigh rubbing during a heatwave in a post shared last summer.

Now, a year after it was originally written, her recommendation has resurfaced and gone unexpectedly viral.

In it, the childcare specialist urges her Facebook friends to try Asda’s Little Angels Liquid Talc to reduce chafing on sweaty thighs and under the breasts.

Since sharing her post again with her profile set to public, her endorsement has received a wave of attention, with more than 2,000 shares.

A woman who advised others to use Asda’s Little Angels Liquid Talc to prevent chafing and sweating during hot weather has received a flood of praise for her tip

Paula Deegan revealed she tested out the 87p product for a week before sharing her findings on Facebook

Paula’s original post read: ‘To all my big busted ladies, or those with thick thighs/some chub… this is a godsend. I’ve been using it under my boobs and thighs and it has really stopped the sweating and chafing in this hot weather! Was only like 87p too (sic).’

Sharing her post on Facebook again this week, Paula wrote: ‘Re-sharing as it’s getting to that time of year again.’

A stream of social media users were quick to respond to Paula’s post, thanking her for the top tip.

One person said: ‘Got this yesterday, must say it works wonders! I walked for miles along the beach today with… a dress on! Had to re-apply once but only because I could feel it getting rubby again, but this was a good hour into the walk.’

Another wrote: ‘So glad this has been shared, I’ve been using baby powder for my sunburn to stop my skin chafing through the night (fell asleep in the sun like a *****!). I wonder if this will be better.’

A third added: ‘Not even joking right now, I’m gonna order like a crate of it, I can’t deal with the Chubb rub (sic)!’

A stream of social media users contributed their thoughts on the recommendation which has now been shared more than 2,000 times

Marketing the product to parents of babies, Asda claims the talc – which has been quality approved by Mumsnet users – leaves skin feeling ‘smooth and soft’.

The product description reads: ‘Caring for baby, Our Little Angels Liquid Talc has been specially formulated with all your baby’s needs in mind.

‘This gentle formulation applies like a lotion and dries to a light, talc-like powder to absorb excess moisture and to help prevent chapping.

Asda advertises their liquid talc to parents, urging them to use the product to keep their baby’s skin soft and smooth

‘It is paraben free, hypoallergenic, dermatologically tested and paediatrician approved, ensuring it’s just right for your little angels – and the rest of the family too.’

Paula’s post has received a flood of comments, with Facebook users tagging their friends in the thread so they can benefit from her suggestion.

Femail has contacted Asda for comment.
